I'd like to 315th the comments here and return the debug functionality to SSMS. I don't understand why my team now needs to download and install VS2019 and then use it, a tool they don't otherwise use, at all, to debug SQL procedures and such. That's just another tool to try and keep current in a sea of tools. Debugging is essential to managing a SQL server instance and I think debug is an appropriate feature to be included in the SSMS toolset and not as an add on to a completely disparate tool. Unless the plan is to phase out the ability to run queries from SSMS too and force us all to use VS to write and run queries in? Please don't go down that road.
