This remains on our long-term backlog as something we want to offer
For now we recommend trying Azure Firewall as the prefered solution to control outbound to Internet

This feature would be useful for inbound rules as well. One use case for this is restricting RDP access to "jump" boxes in a management subnet (this is part of a layered security approach of course). Ideally when home IPs change for the admin staff we wouldn't have to update the NSG rules as well. The DDNS agent would update public DNS within a few minutes and there would be no need to update the NSG. on a side note - the Az Firewall is too expensive :-)
Perhaps there's an "Dynamic ASG" approach to this?

We’re also interested in learning more what people want to use the SFTP/FTPS for and which protocol they prefer. Please feel free to leave us a comment letting us know more detail!

Bump! - we have 700+ clients sending us files via SFTP today. I fully expected a Managed SFTP Service in Azure. Specifically an Azure native solution, direct to blob/file storage (not a third party solution)
