The AppService should support whitelisting Azure service tags to make our lives easier. I have a bunch of AppServices that host my APIs and APIM Consumption Tier sitting in the front. I cannot prevent the direct access to the azurewebsites.net urls because I am on APIM Consumption Tier, which does not have a dedicate IP. So in order to whitelist APIM, I have to whitelist 100s of Azure Datacenter IPs manually. Thats simply crazy. The AppService should support whitelisting Azure service tags. This is a must have.

We’ve recently picked up this work again and apologize for the lack of updates.

The approach we previously pursued did not work well and we’re re-pivoting to a different solution that will enable custom domains to be easier to set up and manage.

We hope to have this ready for a public preview late-2020 or early-2021.
