    Good news (I hope)!

I was finally able to make progress on this. On the machine with the fix, I was able to open a diagram created by SSMS 17.9.1 (on a different machine). The same diagram opened with 18.3.1 resulted in a crash.

I’ll do more testing in the next few days and go over all the comments on this page to make sure I capture all the scenarios and make sure they are really fixed.

    It’s looking good, I really hope… :)

I've been having this issue for a long time. Every time I upgrade I'm hoping it is fixed but SSMS still crashes with no error when trying to open a database diagram. Very frustrating!

Azure Cosmos DB now supports GROUP BY queries! With GROUP BY, you can run queries that group your results according to the values of one or more specified properties. This feature is currently supported in Data Explorer, JavaScript SDK 3.4, and .NET SDK 3.3. Support for other SDKs will be available later this year.
