Key namespaces are better option to separate different application configuration entities. Labels are used to define the evolution process of a specific configuration entity.

    Example keys:

    app1/batSize
    app2/batSize
    ...

Even though both apps have settings named "batSize", these are indeed different entities. And in some case (ex. homonyms) they may carry completely different meaning.

Single AppConfiguration instance can host multiple application configurations. Key namespaces are good for that purpose.

"Key prefixes are the beginning parts of keys. You can logically group a set of keys by using the same prefix in their names. Prefixes can contain multiple components connected by a delimiter, such as /, similar to a URL path, to form a namespace. Such hierarchies are useful when you're storing keys for many applications, component services, and environments in one App Configuration store"

Can you provide a short example, please?

What king of question the key-value query should be able to answer to do proper composition for your scenario?

    For example:

    - Get all KVs where app=app1 AND tenant=t1
    - Get all KVs where tenant=t1
    - Get all KVs where app=app1 OR tenant=t1
    ...

Route Azure App Configuration events to a web endpoint with Azure CLI

Azure App Configuration users can subscribe to events that are emitted whenever key-values are modified. These events can trigger webhooks, Azure Functions, Azure Storage Queues, or any other event handler that is supported by Azure Event Grid.

We are actively working on this scenario. We should be able to demo very soon.

For security reason separation in different AppConfiguration instances in preferable, because it allows to utilize VNET (work item in progress) and other security-in-depth practices.

We are working on improving our tools for cross-instance management to mitigate some of the inconvenience.
