Any updates Microsoft? Care to comment?

Microsoft, it has been a year. Any comments or updates?

"Redirect to HTTPS" is the second most requested feature for Azure CDN. When will Microsoft comment on this or at least mark the ticket as Under Review?

    Anonymous commented  ·

We would like to run our Blazor, serverless, application on Azure Static Websites. However, this is not possible until Microsoft CDN supports HTTPS redirect. Until that time http://www.mywebsite.com is just presented with a vague error page.

Redirect to HTTPS is needed to permit serverless applications to run on Azure Static Websites. Please implement this feature soon.

AWS has this on S3 buckets with AWS CDN: See photo of AWS CDN interface:

And how about much less expensive static IPs? Perhaps $2/mo? The overpriced certificates and overpriced IPs feel like hidden fees.

Azure is already providing free SSL Certificates for CDN, let's make it globally available in Azure!

Google Firebase App Hosting offers free SSL Certificates and Custom Domains even on their Free tier (Spark Plan).

Engineers typically build and host a handful of personal websites as a means to learn new technologies (such as .NET Core, Visual Studio, and Azure). Microsoft is shooting themselves in the foot by not providing developers with an inexpensive place to host their hobby applications (with a domain and SSL).

"Free and shared service plans do not support SSL." Is this a joke?
"Standard SSL Certificate: $69.99/ year" ??

Above examples nauseate businesses and developers. And explain why Microsoft Azure is the #3 cloud provider.

Add letsencrypt certs please. Also lower ur prices and permit a custom domain on the first level plan. Add the ability to host domains instead of using godaddy. We need a Microsoft Domains instead like Google Domains.

Support "Let's Encrypt" Certificates natively with the Azure App service. Make it free and easy to add a certificate to support SSL like many other hosting companies provide.

Learning Azure Serverless w/ Blazor and disappointed to run into this. Support "Let's Encrypt" Certs, now! And by now, I mean a few years ago.

    Anonymous commented  ·

Bump! Add native/easy integration for "let's encrypt" certificates to Azure Web Apps and Azure Functions. Get 'er done!

Yes, re-open and add easy cert install with "Let's Encrypt" certificates like dreamhost offers.

    5 comments  ·  Azure Cosmos DB » Portal  ·  Flag idea as inappropriate…  ·  Admin →

Hi Robin, thank you for your feedback. Will take one at a time.

    1. We realize RU/s (provisioned throughput) is a different model than people may be used to. It is however, not different than say provisioning a VM where you are paying for compute, IO and memory. Customers here too do not want to over-provision as there are unused resources. The same goes for Cosmos DB. Where we need to do better, is in helping people measure their usage and tune their RU/s. This work is planned and ongoing.

    2. We are currently planning on enhancements to Azure Advisor in the portal around this.

    3. Cosmos DB has three different means for Trial. There is the Azure Trial itself. There is also our Emulator (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cosmos-db/local-emulator). Finally, there is TryCosmosDB, (https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/try/cosmosdb/)

    4. I will review this with our SDK team. Agree we should use minimums as…

    Anonymous commented  ·

We need a small database to experiment with and are leveraging SQL Server in Azure for $5/mo. We would prefer to select Cosmos DB, however the ~$23 minimum cost per month is to great. We need something in the <$10/mo range (ideally $5/mo.).

Get it done! I thought Microsoft was taking security seriously? Microsoft should have been first out of the gate on this.
