I ran into this similar issue. I had incorrectly assumed I could find a soft-deleted blob and tell it "delete permanently". Nope.

Whatever soft-delete has done, it has destroyed the performance of one of my containers. I need to clean up these soft deletes and adjust the retention period.

Unfortunately, it looks like it will be a little work to write a script and coordinate shutdown of a live system integration to get this done.

They should also allow targeting of soft-delete rules to filters, like the life cycle.

We’ll send you updates on this idea

We recently added deny capability to Azure’s RBAC system, in the form of deny assignments that can be set by the system only. The first Azure feature to use deny is BluePrint. We intend to add a configurable deny capability in the future, but have not yet announced any details.

    Cheers,
    /Stuart and Balaji
