    Hi Logan,
Thank you for taking the time to write this suggestion! Triggering rules on a transition is on our backlog. We will post an update here when this feature is available.

    Thank you,
    Vanessa

    Hi Rachit,

Azure IoT Central integrates with Azure Maps natively and supports visualizing devices on a map control on the dashboards. However it is not possible to embed custom Azure Maps web controls in IoT Central.

Can you elaborate on which visualizations you are interested in?

    Thanks,
    Ankit

Thanks for the feedback. We’re considering adding additional functionality to custom user roles that will allow you to enable/disable “features” in IoT Central. This work is currently not committed pending additional customer votes here. I’ll keep this page updated once this work is prioritized.

    Hi Ezi,

Can you please clarify your ask further? Do you mean you want the user to have access to only Dashboard and Analytics and not to Devices, Devices Group and Azure IoT Central page?

    Thanks

Hello, Thanks for the feedback! In last few releases, we have worked hard on reducing the data latency. Have you tried creating a new application recently for the demos? When creating a new application choose ‘Custom Application’ instead of ‘Custom Application (legacy)’.

If you still notice a lag then please respond back to this thread so we can take a look.

Hi Ken, Thanks for the feedback and apologies for the delayed response. We are working on improving the charting experience. You can try out some of the new experience using the 'Preview' application template that has recently shipped.

We have an idea on UserVoice logged already to track the raw data feature so it would be great if we can further discuss it on that thread: https://feedback.azure.com/forums/911455-azure-iot-central/suggestions/36014950-view-raw-telemetry-data-sent-by-the-device-without

Bar chart control has also been improved in the new preview experience and now has Y-axis support. We know there is more work needed to further improve this experience. Any suggestions on what you would like to see improved is most welcome.

    Thanks
    Ankit

    Hi Jeff,

We are currently investing in a new type of application in the form of the industry templates and custom applications which are currently in preview.

If you try to create one of those types of apps, you will find that Rules has been moved to the left nav as its own page, and you can manage them independently of devices and device templates.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns about the new rules experience. Please see this blog post to learn more about the changes in IoT Central in the new type of application.

    Hi,

If you have a system that can periodically check what the device template is, you can use the IoT Central APIs now in public preview. You can call GET /deviceTemplates to understand the latest device template.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/iotcentral/devicetemplates/get

If you have a system that needs to be notified whenever there is a change, currently you would have to use a continuous data export to Event hubs or Service bus, and subscribe to the "device templates" stream of data. When a device template changes or a new one gets added, a new message will be sent to your EH or SB with the latest template.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/iot-central/core/howto-export-data-pnp?toc=/azure/iot-central-pnp/toc.json&bc=/azure/iot-central-pnp/breadcrumb/toc.json

I hope this helps, and feel free to reach out if you have other questions.

    Thank you,
Vivian on behalf of the IoT Central team

Hi Jeff, Can you elaborate more on the use case of such a rule? Is there a workflow that you would like to trigger when a device connects for the first time?

Hi, I understand the calculated value for CO2 based on sensor readings but need additional clarification on the temperature-dependent value in LookUp table. Can you elaborate on how you would model the LookUp table and what its schema would look like? Does it get populated based on another expression applied to the temperature data stream?

    Hi Pradesh,

Thanks for the feedback! We are exploring ideas around including the whole message that was sent by the device as an output to actions. This is easier when rules are not aggregating data but challenging when its an aggregate rule. For aggregate rules, multiple messages might get included within the selected time window so its not easy to determine which message payload to include in the output.

Are you using aggregation function in rules?

    Hi Uri,

Thanks for your feedback. While we don't have immediate plans to work on this, we have received this type of feedback multiple times and are taking it under consideration. I'll be sure to update here when I have more to share.

    Thanks,

    Hi Ashley,

Thank you for your feedback. I'd like to make sure I understand your scenario more. What kind of string telemetry would you like to send?

    Thanks,

Thank you for the feedback, we are looking at options to put data processing options at data ingestion stage, we will keep this requirement in mind while we build that.

Mateusz - ideally you should use the device DPS SAS keys to connect to IoT Central here are the Samples https://github.com/Azure/azure-iot-sdk-node/tree/master/provisioning/device/samples. IoT Central uses Device Provisioning Service to provision devices.

The recommendation to use dps-keygen was a work around until the DPS SDKs were available.

Please let us know if you need further help.

    Hi Scott,

IoT Central Device Bridge doesn't support updating device properties. It only works with device measurements (telemetry, state, event). We are working on adding support for support for location as a telemetry and at that point you will be able to use device bridge to post location messages.

    Thanks

Can you provide some more context on the TTL, is it for the SAS device connection string to Hub ?

Yoshihiro - can you provide more details on the system/systems you are trying to integrate. Would it be helpful if this native in IOTC.
