This can be very easily in an ADF Pipeline natively, without other Azure resources.
Just call the API via HTTP requests for scaling or for Resume/Pause.

An example for Analysis Services is here: https://github.com/furmangg/automating-azure-analysis-services/tree/master/ADFv2
You just need to replace it with the resource IDs to your SQL DW instead of AAS.
    That's it.

I like the Idea. So far some parameters already can be set, but not the ones where is a choice (dropdown in the UI). I created a separate feature request for this here:
    https://feedback.azure.com/forums/270578-data-factory/suggestions/39213181-parameterize-linked-service-for-dropdowns-like-int
If somebody is interested, please also vote here.
    Thanks.

It is already possible to deploy the ARM template to existing ADFs. We are using it in our deployment.
    Check the docu:

The Link from the Admin is not working any more.

You can implement it via HTTP requests like this:
    https://github.com/furmangg/automating-azure-analysis-services/tree/master/ADFv2
Quite easy and works pretty good, just copy the code and relax.

    Hi @Jeroen H,
your request could be handled via the Data Catalog API https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/rest/api/datacatalog/.
Start with a blank query and then go to "extended editor" and add the power query M-Code including the web url of the api, like described in the docu.
