We respect machine settings, so if you follow the instructions here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/automation/automation-update-management#enable-updates-for-other-microsoft-products you will be able to achieve this.

We are working on the next iteration of Update Management which is set to provide the capability for users to set a recurring ‘day’ for their schedule
