Thank you for reaching out. I understand, you are migrating from on-prem SQL Server to Azure SQL DB Managed Instance using our DMS Service.
Please make sure that the SMB network share you provided for backup files, must have read/write permissions for the source SQL Server service account.
Also make sure that the windows account that you provided that DMS impersonate to read those files and upload to Azure storage must also have read/write permissions on the above SMB network share.
