Thanks for the feedback on this. There are several ways to do Azure AD join (OOBE, bulk enrollment and Autopilot) which provide a richer experience to join devices to Azure AD. We’re continuously working to enhance those, so currently this is unplanned for the near future. Please continue to vote to help us prioritize

Microsoft has added "Chrome" as supported on 2019 (not 2016) here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/conditional-access/technical-reference but I wonder if this really works with Hybrid Azure AD Join - need to test it.

    Jones1337 commented  ·

We definitely need this. We have many customers with thousands of users running RDS/Citrix XenApp and want to use Chrome.

Same problem here. It should really be scored. I also see that the https://securescore.microsoft.com also lists this issue and this suggests us to create a Conditional Access to secure this.

If it's even possible to run RADIUS securely over the Internet?

    Folks,

Thanks for the questions and suggestions. And apologies for not sharing any update on this thread for so long. We’ve been working on this problem and have announced changes on our official team blog (see here: https://cloudblogs.microsoft.com/enterprisemobility/2016/09/15/cleaning-up-the-azure-ad-and-microsoft-account-overlap/).

First, we are acutely aware of the UX pain this is causing and we are sorry for this. We are trying to undo a decade and a half of systems divergence. There are literally hundreds of different engineering teams across Microsoft involved in this effort. So this is taking time.

Second, we can’t easily “merge” two accounts, or allow IT to “take over” personal Microsoft accounts. There are two main hurdles: (1) The terms of service are fundamentally different for the two account types and (2) they are based on different technologies with different stacks (different identifiers, SDKs, token formats, etc.). We’re working to converge the two stacks but again this…

We are aware of the requirement to be able to convert a synced user to cloud only and are designing that feature, but we have no timelines to share right now.
We reverted the change that would block the “hack” to delete and restore a user to change a user to “Cloud Only”.

    Jones1337 commented  ·

At least my use case is simply to convert a synced user to cloud only. This is for customers that have been running AD Sync for years and have finally decomissioned all on-premises resources and want to stop sync, move to all-cloud and delete their local on-prem AD. What would be the correct process for this today?

Please note that adding dashes to the phone numbers will make the numbers not to follow E.164 format which might cause other problems. We saw problems and duplicate contacts in Skype when we had space and dashes in the phone number.
