Thanks for this suggestion. Yes, as you mentioned & Joe explained this is a known issue in SMA and Azure Automation, but there are workarounds now.
We can use this request to track making connection types mutable.

We are working to understand the requirements of this feature and deliver it. If you have any scenarios or examples that might help us take a decision kindly give a detailed comment below.

Scenario is Enterprise to Hoster. If I am using Cloud for every Tenant that is using DR that means I need to create individual plan or add-on for every Tenant. That is inconsistent with VMM and WAP. In WAP I create cloud per set of resource and not per Tenant. Imagine having 100 customers that means you will be having 100 plans and taking in consideration that the service will be the same for all and at the same price from financial management perspective is also not good. I think it will be good if ASR can align with VMM and WAP on the approach of using Clouds.

Thank you. Could you be more explicit about which resources and which metrics you are referring to?

I think Marc is referring for measuring CPU usage of VM and not only the number of the virtual cores; measuring the actual memory used and not the maximum set if Dynamic memory is set on the VM; measuring Disk used space and not only maximum size of the disk.

We are reviewing a feature for disaster recovery for VMs. If you have particular ideas about the feature, please share with us here. Note that disaster recovery and backup/recovery are different features.

To be able to add DPM as resource provider in WAP thus enabling the capability of backing up VMs and providing possibility for Tenants to make restore of a VM.

Integration with DPM should be out of the box experience. For other backup solutions will be best if Microsoft can partner with them and they create Resource providers for their Backup solutions.

Just to confirm the request, this is around having the complete SMA experience for tenants, correct? Should tenants be allowed to author their own runbooks? Or are you looking to have the admin provide runbook content for the tenants so that they can run and schedule approved runbooks?

Having both will be great. Priority is SMA experience for Tenants. They can author, run, schedule create variables and add connections.
