At the bottom of the query pane, it says "Disconnected" when this happens. It will allow me to reconnect if the same network interface becomes available again, but it will not allow reconnection on a different interface.

For example, if I am on a wired connection when my laptop is docked, and I undock and switch to the wireless connection, the query pane goes "Disconnected" and will not allow a reconnection on the wireless interface. The "Connect..." option on the Connection right-click menu is grayed.

If I re-dock, it will remain disconnected, but will allow me to connect again.

There should be an option to NOT maintain a connection to SQL Server in the query window, and disconnect after each query, and SILENTLY reconnect each time the query is executed. There is currently an option to disconnect after each query, but it displays a connection dialog every time you do anything. It should just remember the last connection parameters and reconnect.

Agreed, this is a major problem. Also, the CSV renderer does not respect Row Visibility. So if a row in a tablix is suppressed with a Visibility expression, it does not export to other formats like PDF or Excel, but the row does export to CSV, so the data does not match up to what is on the report in other formats. BAD!
