Adam: we have heard about this issue from somebody else as well. I was able to get a repro in one case, but that's way more complex than then you you seem to outline.

Aside from the issue popping up right after the upgrade to 18.5, could you describe the behavior right now? Are you saying that even this scenario is not working?
    - Open SSMS 18.5 (from Start menu)
    - Connect to server (using SQL Auth + type pwd + check [remember password]
    - Close SSMS
    - Reopen SSMS (from Start menu)
-> Connectio dialog pops up and show a blank password and the "remember password" unchecked

    Thanks,
    -Matteo

Thanks for reporting this issue. I may have to reach out to the DacFx Team.

Would you be able to share the bacpac with us, perhaps on OneDrive or equivalent? I do understand that it may contain sensitive information and may not be an option for you.

    Thanks,
    -Matteo

You can reach me at matteot <at> microsoft <dot> com.

From the DacFx Team: "Also an option to avoid sending any data – we just need to model.xml from the .bacpac, which contains the schema. The customer can use any tool like 7zip to extract this file from the .bacpac as it’s just a .zip file."
