    Hi Nikolai,

Today we are not handling the direct method response payload in IoT Central. However, you can return a reported property with the same field name of the command with the values you’d like to send. This reported property will show on on the command tile, where you have indicated in your photo, as well as in the command history on the details column. In the payload you’ve shared above, you could send a reported property value “ping, ok, 5ms” as a string. We are looking into handling JSON objects in IoT Central, but do not currently have it in our immediate roadmap.

    Thanks,
Sarah on behalf of the IoT Central team

    Hi Admin,

    Thanks for prompt reply.

We would like to see a routing capability the same like is offered by Azure IoT Hub such as https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/iot-hub/iot-hub-devguide-routing-query-syntax

In other words, the data export should be based on the routing query string expression with a telemetry and non-telemetry data, device properties, etc.

Beside using a Microsoft Flow to handle a device direct method or updating a device twins we can use a Webhook action to trigger external custom workflow in the azure function.
Passing an access token (obtained in the IoT Central Administration page) via query callback URL webhook address to the azure function, we can obtain an iothubTenantSasToken for internal iot hub service-facing endpoint.

More details can be found https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53775213/sending-cloud-to-device-message-for-devices-provisoned-through-iot-central

    Thanks
    Roman

Our eventual goal is to connect every service in Azure to publish events, however, we haven’t started on Service Bus Standard integration yet.

We’re passing your feedback along to the Service Bus team, but as always make sure you let them know as well so they hear your voice!

With our new advanced filters, we’ve added data attribute filters and StringContains as an operator (among many others). Take a look and let us know what you think!

We will likely not add wildcards and regex for quite some time due to the compute and latency costs it would incur, however, we think, most of the use-cases described (and more) can be addressed with our new filters: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/event-grid/event-filtering#advanced-filtering
