    Same here. We would highly appreciate this feature.
    Soft delete is good but it can be circumvented if an admin account is compromised.

    We need a WORM policy like we have it for storage accounts, i.e. not even admins should be able to delete highly critical backups for a certain period of time.

  2. Put a warning in Azure Backup that "provisioning a new VM" instead of replacing the old one might cause issues
