@Chipalo: You mention that the .NET Core is not yet supported by the ARM64/aarch64 but the release docs of .NET CORE it indicates that it IS supported:

    https://github.com/dotnet/core/blob/master/release-notes/2.1/2.1.5/2.1.5.md

    Could you explain?

    Apparently this device:

    https://catalog.azureiotsolutions.com/details?title=Cloudian-AI-Box&source=all-devices-page

Is said to be an "Azure Certified Device". How can this be if aarch64 is not supported?

Use-case: In a geographically separated smart factory, where you need to connect with multiple OPC-servers, with various equipment and sensors connected, for streaming data into the cloud.

I would like to have the same codebase handling all scenarios, only with separate configuration, represented in the module-twin.

The Python SDK is going through a rewrite at the moment. Once that is complete it will be supported on both Linux and Windows. You can find a preview of the rewrite at – github.com/Azure/azure-iot-sdk-python-preview

    That is great news!

I was referring to this tutorial:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/iot-edge/tutorial-python-module

    That states that

"Python modules for Azure IoT Edge don't support Windows or ARM devices."

If this is no longer the case, I withdraw my request.

I think there are plenty scenarios where this could be useful. Particularly when you need near real-time response, such as for process control etc.

There are also scenarios where you only want to stream media upon certain events e.g security camera events etc. in order to save bandwidth where resources are limited.

Just a quick update. Work on this feature continues but is taking longer than expected.

We have recently published guidance how how users who can run Windows in a VM whether on Parallels or Virtual Box with a Mac or Linux host can use the Cosmos emulator. Please feel free to use this as a workaround.
    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cosmos-db/local-emulator#running-on-mac-or-linux

When this feature is complete we will update here.

    Thank you.

We are exploring the possibility of supporting CosmosDB change feed as ingress to Stream Analytics which will solve this scenario. For reference data, we already provide a mechanism to refresh reference data in Azure Blob storage using Azure Data Factory. More details about this here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/stream-analytics/stream-analytics-use-reference-data

We are listening and committed to making Stream Analytics even better! Keep your feedback coming.

You could probably do this by creating a managed .NET assembly that runs form a trigger in your SQL database, and post events to a event-hub that the stream picks up....

    Easy-peasy :)
