We are currently in public preview having hundreds of developers using SSDT and many for their production deployments. We are also servicing our SSDT preview customers in a production-level capacity. We recently released the latest preview with Visual Studio 2019 which can be downloaded here: https://docs.microsoft.com/azure/sql-data-warehouse/sql-data-warehouse-install-visual-studio.
Please try it out and provide feedback through the SSDT feedback channel outlined in our documentation. We are looking to continuously partner with our preview customers to ensure a stable change management and deployment experience with SQL Data Warehouse. Feedback on additional capabilities are constantly and quickly addressed in preview where we are targeting end of this calendar year to make SSDT Generally Available.
Thank you all for your patience.
Thank you for all the feedback folks. Unfortunately this is taking longer than we’d like. We will reach back out when it is on the roadmap and can share when we have an update.

Hey Alex - Can you elaborate on what debugger you are using? As a separate note, we now support NVARCHAR(MAX) within SQL Data Warehouse.
