Hi there, regarding your scenario, if you are implementing a cloud gateway, have you considering using other languages (such as C#)?

John, we can help you debug via Gitter (https://gitter.im/Microsoft/azure-iot-developer-kit).

We are sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with our DevKit! We will investigate internally to see why the extensions failed to load and why the samples could not be located. We want to help you get started with Azure, so if you can tell us more details, we are happy to debug with you.

Hi there, our samples demonstrate best practices using our error handling and retry policies - we cannot create a sample that works for all production scenarios. Can you go into more details on this feature request? Which sample are you referring to?

Hi there, this is indeed a limitation on the Python SDK due to the limitation from C SDK.
We are working on a native Python SDK that will remove this restriction. I don’t have a clear ETA, but we will be public previewing the native version in the next few months.
If you are waiting on this feature for production, please let me know.

Sorry about that. Can you let me know what your timeline for production is? You should be able to view a preview version of native Python SDK shortly - we haven't finalized the GA date, but should be first half of 2019.

This is supported in the C SDK, the C# SDK, as well as the Edge runtime.

Hi there, Reza from our team asked a clarifying question on your thread. Did you get a chance to connect with him? The question was around your version control mechanism for "lastUpdatedVersion".

Hi there, yes there is plan to support Symmetric Key attestation for C# SDK. We are working on this and plan on releasing it in the next couple of months.

Python module in Linux container should work. Did you run into any issues when you were trying this out? If so, please file an issue on our GitHub: https://github.com/Azure/azure-iot-sdk-python

The recommended way to download from blob storage is to leverage the Azure Storage SDK.

For devices that can connect to IoT Hub directly, the Device Provisioning Service is the best way to distribute device identity. For leaf devices, do you need the individual device identity in the cloud? Have you considered using modules to represent leaf devices or an identity translation gateway scenario (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/iot-edge/iot-edge-as-gateway)?

The Python SDK is going through a rewrite at the moment. Once that is complete it will be supported on both Linux and Windows. You can find a preview of the rewrite at – github.com/Azure/azure-iot-sdk-python-preview

Thanks for pointing it out! We are indeed updating this doc to reflect the support for ARM. Windows support is still lagging though, unfortunately.

Hi there, the latest release (https://github.com/Azure/azure-iot-sdk-python/releases) contains support for Raspbian Stretch. As for Windows, this is a limitation on the C and Python SDK. Windows support has not GA on Edge, please stay tuned for Windows support.

Hi there, can you confirm if this is still an issue? If so, can you file a support request from the portal (Help tab from upper right corner)?

Hi there, we'd need to investigate further. Can you submit a service request from Azure Portal so we can take a look at your hub?

Hi there, thank you for the feedback! Can you provide more details on what do you mean by an IoT Hub emulator and why that will be useful for your scenario?

This feature is currently not implemented in the C SDK, which is why it is not available in the Python SDK. We are planning on implementing this feature in the future but has no ETA now.

C2D message is currently not supported, but direct method is. Does direct method work for your scenario?

Hi, can you provide more information on your request? What do you mean by write or sending this application on Azure?
