ARM has a GUID function currently, we’re going to allow for seed using a DateTime function, in a parameter’s defaultValue.
this function is now live, this can be closed. https://github.com/rjmax/ArmExamples/blob/master/guidSample.json
Support for creating a container in ARM templates is now done. We have begun work to support Tables and Queues.
Here is a link to a sample template to create a container: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/resources/templates/101-storage-blob-container/
Thank you for your feedback. We are currently in public preview of static website hosting for Azure Storage to enable this scenario. Check out the blog post here for more details: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/azure-storage-static-web-hosting-public-preview. The feature set includes support for default documents and custom error documents for HTTP status code 404.
For any further questions, or to discuss your specific scenario, send us an email at email@example.com.
I am freaking puzzled, how is it possible that the Azure storage team is not aware of the fact that this is possible???
This feature is under review per the following.
