I would like External Connections to consider supporting the Integrate pipeline in Synapse Analytics Workspace as well as the Data Factory.

the data factory pipelines with copy activities that use dynamic runtime parameters in the source and sink dataset does not show in the "browse assets".

Currently we can only see what reports are connecting to what Database but not able to see what tables or views in the database. This feature would help tremendously to track the dataflow from raw to visualisation

There is no support for quality assessment, automation, data marketplace, access control, data masking, data profiling, datasets previews, practical data relationship management and visualization, and much more. The features that were released are embarrassingly limited. For example, the business glossary is no more than a nice interface on top of excel. It is not possible to handle any semantic or to associate terms with automatic classification rules.

I want to be able to use white spaces in the name of the collection.

I don't think white space can be used at the moment, there are times when it is inconvenient to use a lot of - etc.

According to doc, Maximum size of an asset in a catalog is 2 MB. That seems quite low, and I was able to scan a 4MB XLSX file anyway. What does this limit mean?

Lineage or show link or correlation between tables and cols with help of model or keys or values in each col, etc. it is hard to manually find it when there are too many interconnected systems. also want to see end to end lineage for col level.

I can register and scan on-prem servers without declaring DBMS Instance but get no results from databases that I have access to in other DBMS Instances on the same server - used HQOLYMSQL12D\SQL2016D in the registration with no results in the scan. If this isn't the proper place to pose this please let me know where.

Many enterprises have resource group tagging conventions which block creation of non-compliant RG.

This is very important especially if we are not able to set a cost centre tag on the managed resource group.

I couldnt use the serverless pool as a target for a scan. It would be great as a metadata layer across Data Lake storage to make it tidier for purview to scan

It would be nice if like a database where you can select specific tables for a collection. You could let us select which Data Factory pipelines are related rather than adding everything in the Factory.

We have dedicated schemas to house table backups and temporary work tables that get added and dropped throughout the day. Deselecting by table doesn't really work once the process gets scheduled.

Modern data catalog sample each data set and compute basic statistics such as the number of columns with null values, distribution of values per column, etc.

Support for Visio files so that we are able to associate diagrams and data models to the overall asset
