  1. Scanning of Analysis Services (Azure Analysis Services [AAS] / SQL Server Analysis Services [SSAS])

Purview still lacks the ability to scan Analysis Services sources. Even though we're shifting to use more and more Power BI Premium, several companies have a large footprint of Analysis Services and we need to keep track of that. Particularly for my company, the lineage view in Purview is mostly broken as our most important reports are built on top of Azure Analysis Services reports.

  3. Automatic assignment of glossary terms based on classification

We would like the ability to automatically assign glossary terms based on the classification of data found in scanned files and tables. For instance a classification like income, age, or gender could fall under the glossary term "sociodemographic features" and a classification as credit card no. or invoice under a glossary term "financial features".

  4. Add Log Analytics as a data source

Log Analytics is a repo of log data that can be construed as operational and analytical data and thus should be included as a data source to scan in Purview

  6. Automatic refresh of scan status

When scan is performed, it is not easy to see that scanning is actually running or if it is complete - and in the screen that shows that - the screen should refresh automatically and not require clicking refresh to see if scan is ongoing or complete

  7. Trigger a scan upon change of data in a connected data source

Similar to continuous scanning, identify an incremental delta in data source to set off a new scan to discover additional assets and classify

  10. Scan full contents of unstructured data for classification

When scanning unstructured data to determine classification, Purview currently only scans a sample (the first 20mb) of the file. We would like an option to scan the full contents of the data.

  16. Labels set manually via external MIP clients should be reflected in Purview

Many Purview customers are also using other MIP services (AIP, SharePoint, Office) which allow for manual or automatic labeling of content. When this labeled content is stored in a data source that Purview scans, Purview should be able to read and display the labels.

  17. View information worker data scanned by Purview in M365 analytics

Information worker data (documents, pdfs, etc.) may be stored in azure and other infrastructure storage locations. We would like to be able to see this data that has been scanned and classified by purview in the SCC/M365 analytics locations like Activity Explorer or Content Explorer.

  19. Custom Sensitive Information Types sync between SCC and Purview

Many customers have already defined custom sensitive information types in the security and compliance center and would like to see these synced with Purview rather than needing to recreate custom classifications.

  20. Custom classification min count should be decreased from 2 to 1

When defining a custom classification rules, the minimum count to trigger the custom classification (distinct count threshold) is currently 2. There are cases where even 1 occurrence of data matching a regular expression will identify the data as sensitive so this should be available.
