  1. Do not let users create GPU instances running Ubuntu 14.04

The NVIDIA GPU drivers are only compatible with Ubuntu 16.04 as noted in the documentation here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/virtual-machines-linux-n-series-driver-setup

However, the Azure portal allows users to create GPU instances running Ubuntu 14.04. This is extremely confusing for new users who aren't aware of this restriction while creating their instances. Personally I wasted a lot of time trying to install drivers on three different virtual machines because this restriction was not clear.

If we prevent users from creating GPU instances running 14.04 then we can avoid this problem altogether.

Buying SendGrid for instance is not possible.
Very difficult to explain to a customer.

  5. do we have Oracle instances in PaaS Services?

Hi, We have a requirement for Oracle instance as PaaS. its better if we have oracle instance in PaaS, instead having a IaaS VM with Oracle Software.

    Regards,

  7. Improve pricing transparency (MSDN)

At the moment, MSDN subscribers get discounted rates for things like VM's and App Service instances. In the portal it's not clear that the rates shown are discount rates. This can lead to confusion when a development team is asked to deliver an estimation on the cost of a solution.

My proposal would be to have a clear indication of the fact that the rates shown are discounted. For instance by showing both (normal + discounted) or by having a tooltip to explain that the rates are discounted and for other subscriptions the rate is higher. Assuming that in normal…

  8. Add multiple roles from a single worker project

It would be good if we can create one worker project and add it as different roles to the same cloud project. It will be useful cos I want to run the same project with different config and I don't want to spin threads and manage the role instance scale and stuff.

  9. Sleep mode for resources that will reduce pricing

Sometimes creating a resource set and linking everything together is a long process and not something we can easily tear down and rebuild when required. It would be great to have a switch to tell Azure to move all instances (where possible) into their lowest cost tiers to save money as the resources are sleeping and then when we need them again, restore them to the their original service settings.

For instance, a Basic database is much cheaper than a Standard or Premium version.

You might also be able to deallocate any resources like redis that are not specifically linked…

  10. Microsoft Website page on "Azure IP Address Pricing" has incorrect contact link under FAQ section.

Hello, I'm an Azure TSP in the Midwest. In the FAQ on the bottom of this webpage "https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/ip-addresses/", it give the below two answers to questions. Both include a "Contact" link that creates an email addressed to "wapteams@microsoft.com". That address resolves in Microsoft's corporate email to "Windows Azure Team" whose members are: “Azure Webinar Reply Germany”, “CRM OL users”, and “Red Alert Response Team”.

This "wapteams" address seems to be an old address that is incorrectly still being used in these "Contact" links. The Azure documentation site on "Azure Limits" states you should create a support…

  11. pricing

Pricing in the Barracuda Hourly License A0 instances is incorrect, with what appears to be a decimal point error. The hourly operation cost is listed at $5.72/hr, yet A1 is $0.60/hr. Clearly a decimal typo in which the A0 pricing per hours should be $0.572/hr, therefore the monthly price is far less that ~$4269.

I suggest you to eliminate the possibility of error in your azure calculator. Or even, delete the instance concept as you use, which is very confusing.

In addition, we need more information about the daily cost of every product.

  13. CloudQueue.DeleteMessageAsync: Return bool for deleted or not

CloudQueue.DeleteMessageAsync: Return bool for deleted or not

Today the signature is public Task DeleteMessageAsync
    a public Task<bool> DeleteMessageAsync
where the return is true for deletedOk, false for not deleted, like for instance List<T>.Remove would be good.

  14. assigning Database or Storage Containers to each user's in AAD

We want to avoid coding to manage customer's folder, storage container or database instance. Please implement a way to allow us assign specific resources to specific user without coding.

  15. Allow WebJob to run concurrently

Allow a WebJob to run in parallel on the same machine (controllable via a parameter in the attribute).

Sometimes you need to scale the Website, but often you just need multiple instances of a WebJob to run on the same machine.

  16. AlwaysOn Listener of AlwaysOn Template VM

    1. I hope to assign a reserved IP for AlwaysOn Listener when I create AlwaysOn Template VM.
Because the IP address that assigned for AlwaysOn Listener release when VM is deallocated,
I can't use same IP address for login.

    2. I hope to select Internal Load Balancer when I create AlwaysOn Template VM.

  18. Exportable audit log for all actions and changes

It would be extremely useful to have additional audit logs available on the Azure management portal with focus on exact deployments times of cloud services/web sites, starting/stopping/swapping times of instances etc.

In a bigger company this is important to be able to track changes even if they were done not through our own scripts and processes but through the Azure management portal. For these it would be essential to have an export feature as well - at least for the last few months.

  19. Provide a better way in console to bring up G5

We tried to bring up a G5 instance through the console. However after numerous attempts we still failed to bring up the G5 instance with timeout issue during provisioning. And even though G5 instance was not running successfully, our credit was still being charged. After filing a new billing ticket (couldn't file a technical one without a support plan), Support staff from Azure was able to figure out the issue where we have to set up the cloud service first before creating the G5 VM since G5 is only available in dedicated service. Here is our suggestion:

    1) Do not…

  20. For planned maintenance updates

"The maintenance window is 12 hours, but each instance will be affected for 30-45 minutes"

For planned maintenance updates, is it possible to get a notification that the service (Virtual Machine) will be restarted within 30 minutes?

It would be great to have that function, then it is possible to prepare the machine to reboot and avoid downtime under the entire maintenance window.
