Provide hourly consumption data on my Reserved Instances
At the moment the Azure billing API provides a daily aggregation for RI usage. This is great, I have enough data to calculate the cost if I wanted to.
What it doesn’t tell me is when the virtual machine was run (time of day).
Why is that important?
I want to know how many virtual machines run at the same time (max count per hour).
I want to purchase reserved instances based on the maximum concurrently run in an hour, as opposed to how many ran throughout the day. This information will help me make a more informed decision on how many RIs I actually need per VM type. Without this information, I run the risk of under/over purchasing RIs.
