Azure Dev Spaces

Azure Dev Spaces allows you to test and iteratively develop your entire microservices application running in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) without the need to replicate or mock dependencies. Azure Dev Spaces reduces the burden and complexity of collaborating with your team in a shared Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) cluster as well as running and debugging containers directly in AKS.

  1. Set up a similar mechanism for Message Brokers like it has for REST calls

With REST calls, you forward a "azds-route-as" to distinguish between parent and child namespaces with a fallback to the parent namespace if the child does not exist. A similar mechanism for Message Brokers like Azure Service Bus woul be a welcome addition.

  2. Distribute central managed xml whitelists for Azure Devops IP-Addressess just as this is done for Azure Datacenters.

Distribute central managed xml whitelists for Azure Devops IP-Addressess just as this is done for Azure Datacenters.
So we can atleast script firewall white-listing to Azure resources from Azure Devops.

  3. Please add Resource Copy feature to Azure

There are many customers including our Cloud Partners who ask Resource Copy feature for their Azure environment.

Typically when customers keep Dev/Test/Prod environments which have same configuration.
When they want to scale out their Cloud services, they need to copy existing resources to another resource group.

We can export ARM templates for existing resources but this cannot be used to copy a resource without modifying details.

If we can add a copy feature at least for some of top products being used, customers can reduce great amount of time and effort.

Please take this feedback into Dev pipepline.

    Thank you, …

  4. Validate azure against devops version controlled reference templates

We use DevOps to deploy Azure "virtual datacentres" (VDC) and use version control and release management. Our clients are very keen to understand insider threats and use behavioural analytics etc. We would like to be able to "prove" the running state of a VDC against the repo and release and have something like monitor service maps to highlight any deviations (that might suggest an administrator is making changes through the portal) correlated with activity logs. Thus the state of any deployment can be formally proven... and secondly, want "out of band" governance - some means to assure the deployments that…

  5. Implement Office Viewers in ADO.

when users wish to view an office file that is attached to a WorkItem, they get a message that there is no viewer available and have to download it and view locally. Big disappointment and clutter creator. MS already has online viewer/editor capabilities for Office files in SharePoint... Azure DevOps needs this capability too.

  6. Add DevOps as an allowable service to bypass Azure Key Vault Firewall

Currently, if you enable IP Blocking on Azure Key Vault Firewall, you are not able to access Secrets using a DevOps pipeline without whitelisting specific IP Addresses. DevOps is not listed as an allowable Service to bypass the Firewall.

  7. Sync Azure Templates Service with DevOps

In Portal we have the Templates Service.
Currently we have to update the ARM templates in DevOps
and then manually copy to Azure Portal Templates Service.

Can we sync the ARM templates directly with DevOps just like we have "Source control" in Azure Automation Account?

  8. Enable HTTPS with Let's Encrypt

It would be great if you can also use HTTPS on the Azure Dev Spaces by using the build in ACME of Traefik: https://docs.traefik.io/configuration/acme/
