Support Linux distros
If you guys truly love Linux, then let us use our Linux distros to develop with Azure Sphere.
We are closing this feature request as we do not support any Linux distro today, just Azure Sphere OS.

Azure Sphere OS is a custom distro of Linux that Microsoft created with a ton of security enhancements specifically for Azure Sphere. If they let you put your own Linux ditro on an Azure Sphere MCU, then you wouldn't be using Azure Sphere anymore... You can always use other hardware platforms if you don't want the added security that the Azure Sphere platform offers...

applications can be compiled with unix-like gcc ... I test with gcc-linaro and all is ok, but normal gcc is too bid as installation
for other platforms not have tools as packer and uploader
Thank you for your request, we will review your feedback
Just received a board today, but can't use it since it's only on Windows.
Because there are thousands of Linux OS variations as per the user’s requirements. Some are very fundamental like Debian, some is a fork of a base distro like Ubuntu, Arch Linux and there are many fork-of-a-fork-of-a-fork like Linux Mint https://www.walgreenslistens.us/

Jonas, I don't think you will find them dissagreeing with you. The alternative is that they wait until they have developed mac/linux support before releasing anything. Since they are microsoft, why are you surprised that they wrote the IDE/drivers for windows first?
Its so weird for the platform to be based on Linux, but not work on Linux
