BUG: missing registry key
Hi,
I've recently had to rebuild our primary DPM server and chose to go to 1801 > 1807 to future proof a bit! Once the production was up and running I thought it was worth backing that up to another DPM server, so I created one in Hyper-V & got to the installation phase when I had the dreaded "I couldn't find the Hyper-V tools installed" error. However, this one was different - it was looking for a registry key at HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Data Protection Manager\Setup\HyperVPowerShell. Just out of curiosity I manually created this path in the registry & the installer…

Fix custom tape label bug
In DPM, when customising tape backups, you used to be able to set the label for the tape. This was great. Since 1807, this functionality is completely broken. Custom tape labels that existed prior to upgrading retain their custom tape label but you cannot change or set new tape labels for protection groups.
Please fix this bug.

Remove Tape Library, Tape Drives
We decomssioned our old tape library. Replaced it by a new one (other vendor). However now we have two libraries.
It is possible to disable the old one, but that still generates errors in the event log at SCOM can/will pick up and triggers an alert.

Feature Request: DPM-Azure Recovery Vault
We want to have a feature where if we upgrade DPM Server including Storage, we really to continue with Incremetal job not Full backup job because it actually doubled our data in Azure and that is a pain fro cost point of viw

Exclude temp disk in Azure Backup Server
If running the Azure Backup Server to protect IaaS VMs, there should be an option to globally exclude the temp drives on those VMs. Otherwise the process of excluding that disk is a very manual task for every protected server.

DDBoost support
It would be great if DPM had DDBoost support or any option to use a Deduplication Appliance \ Storage.

Improve Reliability
We are running DPM and bi-yearly basis is silently dies. This is often related to Windows updates. We do not get any message in this case. Overall the software is way to instable. Please improve product stability.

Copy from Cloud to Tape/Disk
As same as IaaS, Backup as a Service should allow customer to move backup to cloud and move back without any limitation.

Add Online/Azure Recovery Points visibility to SSRT (SQL Self-service Recovery Tool)
Currently DPM's SSRT for SQL Admins can only view the local Recovery Points. We need to allow our SQL Admins to restore the Azure Recovery Points as well.

Tape: multiple Long-term jobs on one tape
One of my customers uses a tape library (without moving tapes offsite) and he needs to put multiple long-term backup jobs on one tape as data written on one day is only 1/4 of the capacity of the tape. So he wonders why he can't put 4 long-term joibs on one tape.
Please enable that multiple long-term tape backups can be written on one tape.
Thanks.

Assigning PG backup to specific tape pool based on barcode label
Option for allotting tapes to tape pools, pools can then be assigned to DPM protection group and the backups will only use tapes from allocated pool.

ties in DPM, better to help troubleshoot backup problems.
I'd love to see better logging capabilities in DPM, to better troubleshoot problematic backups.

Make Copy-DPMDatasourceReplica output machine-readable
Currently the "Copy-DPMDatasourceReplica -CheckReplicaFragmentation" command outputs the value as string to the Powershell write-host output and there is no means to capture it.
Please change Copy-DPMDatasourceReplica to return an proper PSObject, so the returned value can be used in scripts.
