How can we improve Azure Maps?

Adding a clearer style for map tiles over satellite tiles

Azure Map's label or hybrid layer are not thought to look legible over satellite tiles. Since the text color is black with white borders (and white roads with black borders) it looks painfully awful to use.

Attached is a simple Azure vs Mapbox comparison.

Thanks for confirming. We are investigating options and will update this thread when we have more details.

That's correct. We are overlaying the label tiles over the satellite tiles. We need to do this because of the application requirements. So that's the main reason to request another style that would better match the one described in the thread.

How are you getting the Azure Maps image? I've just tried the web SDK and it shows a different style than what is in your screenshot. The style I'm seeing in Azure Maps web SDK is very similar to Mapbox and is easy to read (white text with black outlines, roads are nearly transparent grey lines). Are you working directly with the Render service and overlaying the label tiles over the satellite tiles. If so, then that would explain the difference as the label tiles in that service isn't using the same style as the web sdk.
