SSMS 18.2 Edit Job Step hangs
In SSMS 18.2 when we edit a job step under Job properties it takes minutes to open the edit box
This has been fixed in 18.5.
So, it's been an issue since september 2019 and still no roll out? That's a whole lot of useless hours reverting to 17.9
Just an update on this one: the issue has been fixed and will be rolled out in an upcoming release of SSMS (18.5+).
Same issue here. Have to revert to v17.9. V18.4 not responding when editing a job step against sql2019 instance.

We have the same issue when trying to edit the backup jobs from the Ola Hallengren Maintenance Solution with SSMS 18.4.
It seems that the output file under advanced\steps creates this.
If we change the file location from $(ESCAPE_SQUOTE(SQLLOGDIR))\$(ESCAPE_SQUOTE(JOBNAME))_$(ESCAPE_SQUOTE(STEPID))_$(ESCAPE_SQUOTE(STRTDT))_$(ESCAPE_SQUOTE(STRTTM)).txt
to just C:\temp\test.txt it works just fine.
The first location name are from Hallengren scripts.
I had this and determined it was the use of Job macros within the step output path. Without the macros I could edit the step normally, as soon as I add a path using the macros, editing of the step takes ages.
+1 for 18.1
