Put Debugger back into SSMS 18
The SSMS Debugger is critical for debugging complex T-SQL Queries, please return it to SSMS 18
I am uninstalling 18.* and going back to 17.9 period. At the point I can no longer use SSMS, will go to Toad or some other product. Visual studio is bloated, buggy, slow with SSDT installed.
Agree - make no sense - please add it back. SSDT and Visual Studio no good for me.

Who thought it was a good idea to remove the debugger from SSMS? This is supposed to be a complete database tool so why would you need to use another tool for debugging? What is the point? Who makes these terrible decisions? This is similar to removing Macros from the Visual Studio IDE way back...you invest in the technology and all your work is rendered useless.
Let us have the debugger back into SSMS 18. Whose ideas is it to remove it?

absolutely agree. Back with that debugger now!!!
Who thought of leaving this from version 18.x?

I suppose they are removing it because of the ridiculous desing decision that requires an user to have a sysadmin fixed rule in order to debug.
And instead of solving the problem they are getting rid of it by removing the debug feature.
This is so rude.
Please bring the debugger back!
I am migrating my environment to visual studio, but in the meantime, the debugger is a critical tool for maintaining my current application.

I spend most of my days in the SSMS debugger. Our company will not be upgrading to any version of SSMS or the companion version of SQL that does not have a debugger.

Who's the one that thinks it is a good idea to remove this functionnality? C'mon guys, I'm not proud at all!
Please add the debugger back to SSMS 18

Wow , Please let us know without Debugger, how to step-through Sored Procedures ?

Please put it back. I use it very often in SSMS.
I can't believe what i'm seeing!! why is it removed? I don't want to install VS just to debug SP! Put it back!!!!
Yes put it BACK!
I was totally surprised this option is removed.
Can't work without it.
Can't think of a reason why it is not available anymore. I am very curious.
Who decides something like this. A manager with an Excelsheet? And a bonus for delivering an update in time?
Goes to prove again an upgrade is not necessarily an improvement.
Please give SQL debugger back
Strange, SQL debugger is must. I suppose, next step will be removing debugger from VS 2019 as well...

I am downgrading to SSMS 17 then. Debugger is critical for complex routines.
We also need that T-SQL Debugging tool gets back to the SSMS.
T-SQL is an embedded and procedural language and like every other PLs in the world should have a line by line code tracing and debugging facility for developers and in the home of development which is SSMS and not in any other IDEs like Visual Studio or third party IDEs/Tools. This is exactly a must both for dev and production environments. It becomes way more crucial when working with complex and heavily coded stored procedures. Please return it back soon enough like you did for Diagramming Tools. We fully appreciate it in advance you are listening to practitioners.
I need the debugger at least once a day to track down issues in complex scripts. We recently upgraded to 18.1 and now I have no way to do this. I literally can't do my job.
please add it back. i use it very often to debug codes
