CEIP Service cause noisy error log
We found that CEIP Service causes following error log messsage in production server.
CImageHelper::Init () Failed load of symbol file with path = D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL13.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Binn\;D:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL13.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\BINN Error Code 0xc0000004
- 0xc0000004 : The specified information record length does not match the length that is required for the specified information class
following attached file is event log that I collected.
Version of prod server is following (which is on AZURE):
Microsoft SQL Server 2016 (SP1-CU5) (KB4040714) - 13.0.4451.0 (X64) Sep 5 2017 16:12:34 Copyright (c) Microsoft Corporation Standard Edition (64-bit) on Windows Server 2016 Datacenter 6.3 <X64> (Build 14393: ) (Hypervisor)
We all know that this message is only annoying have no effect to any service query But is loud and noisy.
My support MS engineer recommend me to disable CEIP Service also told me that there is no solution to not to install CEIP Service and we only have a method to disable it through UI or editing Registry.
Sure I don't want to edit registry on my production server you would do same too!
Please review this idea.
- please have me a solution not to install CEIP Service from very beginning(i mean installation step)
- please I don't want to see this error message anymore.(yes i have not shown this message since I disable CEIP Service, but this is not a REAL SOLUTION it only workaround)
When will this "Under Review" state be changing? I've heard that this bug will not be shown in latest sql server release. but no announcement?
isn't it too lazy?
We have found another issue and opened case (#118122419485968).
Failing to load symbol message keep appeared as disabling CEIP Service.
I'll post another idea about this issue.
I'm wondering when does this "UNDER REVIEW" status will be updated?
