Source Control Disabled by Default in SSMS 17
Your have disabled the Source Control Provider option in SSMS 17 by default. What the hell were you thinking?
There is no plan to address this issue.

As I'm sure many people have told you, Visual Studio Database Projects are a very difficult way to manage collections of ad hoc scripts that are executed against an existing SQL database. There are a fair number of people using or trying to use TFS with SSMS projects, many of them unable to and frustrated. I really wish that MS would reenable source control in SSMS or publish reliable documentation on how it can be done manually. (The MS blog is incomplete and doesn't work entirely.)
