Move resource(s) to another location.
I wish I could move resource(s) to another location just like I can move it now to another Resource Group or Subscription.
For example, I just created a new Function App, with a new Storage Account and put them in a new Resource Group. After all resources were provisioned, I realized that I forget to picked up a location I want. Instead of South Central US, I need them to be in West US.
It would be super handy if I can just move them all to the West US location. Instead, I have to delete resources and recreate them again, but using the right location.
I'm totally fine if Microsoft does the same steps and recreate the same resource using the same name in a new location, after dropping a current one. I just want to click a button and wait :)

Hi guys, is there any update on this? I moved to a new resource group in a new location but I need to move the app service and SQL etc. into the new location as well. As mentioned below by others, I can also move the resources to the new resource group which is in the new location but the resources stay in the current location. Thanks so much.

Any news on that issue? Any official statement or timeline on that?

Deleting and recreating seems to be a problem with the checkpoint information being lost for Event Hub triggers.

Hello,
We are working on a new capability that will allow customers to move Azure resources from one region to another. Could you please fill out this small survey so that we can find out more details on your requirements and assist you with your ask soon :)

With GDPR in EU, we should be able to easily relocate resources to locations within EU. This is so far difficult or impossible to do in Azure Portal.
