Allow tight integration between Power BI and ADC.
1. Publish Power BI models to ADC.
2. Grab data models or data from ADC from Desktop/Service.
3, View metadata from ADC from w/in Power BI Desktop/Service.

data sources can be updated frequently - currently, a manual update is required to keep fields/tables in sync.

A majority of the data sources we have loaded into the catalog are a 100 million+ records, quite a few being in the billions. It would be extremely useful to have the option to add a filtering statement that would narrow down the dataset being pulled by a user when they try to open a report in any of the available options especially Power BI15 votes
The Open In ... Power BI Desktop option should establish a Live Connection for SSAS Tabular Models rather than attempt to Import Data. Currently Power BI Desktop opens with an empty model and users must add individual items (measures, tables). The ideal user experiences would be a connection to the existing SSAS model using live connection and users can immediately start dragging and dropping items to build a report.15 votes

2. View metadata from ADC from w/in Visual Studio.
3. Share queries/models directly from Visual Studio

5. Metadata entry from data source in ADC --> SSAS data model
6. Metadata entry in Visual Studio --> ADC

Due to the one catalog per organisation limitation we have had to set up a new organisation for our Data Catalog. Because of this we can't list any experts on our data sources as they are not part of the 'catalog' organisation.
The ability to add external email addresses as experts would let us overcome this issue.
This would also be valuable as we rely on a number of data sources from external agencies, and would like to be able to list their contact email as an expert also.9 votes
Allow Azure Data Catalog to enumerate the Power Apps/PowerBI CDS and open in Excel. Also allow connections such as SQL tables to have a defined Power Query to open in place of the direct table as governed by an admin/expert.8 votes
It would be nice to be able to organize the objects in the catalog to make it easier for users to find what they're looking for. Folders, libraries, preferably a method they've seen elsewhere.8 votes
I would like the ability to add custom metadata in the form of a name-value pair to a data source for example for the file data source, I would like to add an attribute named refreshperiod with a value of Daily. this would open up ADC for ETL Code generation scenarios using tools such as Biml it would also allow more robust custom metadata enrichment7 votes
Currently those with Power BI pro licenses are not impacted by the security restrictions in the Azure Data Catalog standard edition. This limitation is making it difficult to maintain a consistent and reliable data catalog when you cannot restrict editing and deleting privileges on a large user base.7 votes
Applying Artificial Intelligence to tag columns and objects when doing data profiling. For example, when profiling and the field is FName, you look at the data and provide a confidence that this is First Name.6 votes
Allow customers to add branding (logo, CSS) to Azure Data Catalog; this will aid internal customers in trusting this service as a tool where data classifications are important.6 votes
it seems like Excel would be a logical choice for a data source while you could use the file data source it doesn't provide much in the way of metadata6 votes
The client application which is downloaded and installed, is not high-DPI monitor aware. The result is that when used with a 4K or 3K monitor, the resultant font sizes are terribly small. Small font sizes degrade usability and accessibility. Please make the application high DPI aware.5 votes
Support for high-DPI displays is on the Data Catalog backlog. In the interim, this article provides some information and suggested workarounds:
After searching through the catalog for a list of specific items, it would be great if we could export that list as a csv. For example a manager may request a list of all the data-sources owned by their team, or auditors may want a list of data sources that contain specific fields.5 votes
Please provide downstream relationships available to tables. E.g. in a Customer -> Sales <- Dates simple star schema and a Purchases <- Dates star schema in the same model,
Customer would relate to Sales and Dates
Purchases would relate to Dates
Sales would relate to Customer and Dates
Dates would relate to Sales, Purchases.
This would help our analysts understand what could be used with what5 votes
I work for an organisation that has multiple, distinct areas. My area would like to set up a catalog separate to the rest of the organisation, but still able to integrate with our Azure tenancy. Right now we can't due to the limit of one catalog per organisation.5 votes
There is currently no SDK for querying or interacting with ADC. The only option at the moment is via the REST API5 votes
A Swagger-based SDK for the Data Catalog REST API is currently in development, with availability expected in late Q$ CY2017 or early Q1 CY2018.
To enable non-interactive automation scenarios it should be possible to connect as a service principal5 votes
Support for service principals access is currently in development, with available planned in Q4 CY2017.
