  1. driver updates incorrectly reporting

I have several windows systems and VMs that are misreporting driver updates required. I have run Windows Update, scanned for updates from driver manufactures tool kits, and I have even gone to device manager and attempted to search for and manual install latest drivers (that I already had installed.) Some of the drivers are old as the component is a few years old (like processors from 2013 with last driver update in 2015).

Is there a way to clear the cache, or flag it as ignore so that it does not pop until a new driver actually becomes available (which…

  3. Issue with New-AzAutomationSoftwareUpdateConfiguration - not registered VM

    Hello,

i currently have a problem with onboarding vms to the updatemanagement. I have this issue also in other tenants.

    Steps to reproduce:
    - Deployment of the Automation Account and LogAnalytics
    - Adding the VM to the UpdateManagment
    - Use New-AzAutomationSoftwareUpdateConfiguration to create a update configuration.

    Then there is the error:

You have requested to create an update configuration on a machine that is not registered for Update Management. Assure that the machine is registered for Update Management. Machine Name(s) or Id(s): /subscriptions/xxxxxx/resourceGroups/xxxx/providers/Microsoft.Compute/virtualMachines/xxxxxxx/subscriptions/xxxxxxx/resourceGroups/xxxxx/providers/Microsoft.Compute/virtualMachines/xxxxx.

According to the Add-AzureVM window to update management, the VM is already enabled.

    At the moment we…

  4. Exclude a patch through by mentioning word like OFFICE along with current KB number option

Currently in our SCCM, part of monthly server patch Tuesday deployment, we do exclude Office and Webapps related patches. There is a option in SCCM deplement where We do write the word OFFICE, WEBAPPS under the option that the patches with this word be excluded. Wherein currently at AZURE UPDATE MANAGEMENT, we do not have option to exclude a specific patches by mentioning the patch that has specific word instead they only have option to exclude a SPECIFIC KB by mentioning its KB number. Can we have my additional requirement that is excluding by a "specific word" of patch like…

  6. Be able to sort by subscription

We have VM from various subscriptions in our workspace. It would be nice to be able to see their compliance by subscription.

  7. Filtering update history in the portal

The history tab in the portal only gives the option to filter by status. I would love to be able to filter by update name. I've got hourly updates for virus definitions which swamps the log if I want to check less update schedules.

  8. Ability to preview updates when creating deployment schedule

SCCM allowed you to preview updates when creating an ADR so you could tell what updates were going to be included within the deployment - When creating a Deployment Schedule in update management you can select update classifications and include/exclude specific updates. It would be nice to be able to see at the deployment schedule screen what updates will be included within your deployment schedule.

  10. Include a parameter to know whether the SoftwareUpdateConfigurationRunContext is from Pre/Post script

I would like the following improvements to the update management schedule.

    1. Ability to see the resource group names that are part of this schedule. Right now it says N groups.

    2. Include a parameter to know whether the context is for Pre/Post script invocation. This will help us write a runbook to start/stop vm's based on the invocation.

    3. Include Pre/Post Action as part of schedule configuration. These actions can be restart if stopped (pre action), Stop/Keep the VM's running after updates etc.

  11. Menu/Option to offboard VM's

Removing a VM from Update Mgmt requires going to the attached Log Analytics workspace and manually removing the VMUUID from the "MicrosoftDefaultComputerGroup" saved search.
A cleaner way to achieve this would be ideal for customers with large IaaS environments.

  13. Update Management - Inject Patch Inclusions or Exclusions automatically during pre-script

In Azure Update Management, we are able to cancel a scheduled Update Deployment with a pre-script (in our case, I'd like to do that if the patches have not yet been verified to impact the software prodcut running on the machine). I would also love to be able to 'inject', in the pre-script, one or more KB ID's that must be in- or excluded from the Update Deployment.

  14. How do I stop "in progress" Update Deployment?

It's in progress for about 4 days now. The maintenance window was 30 minutes. Can see this is an ongoing issue too. Will it ever be fixed?

  16. Why can I not run Feature Updates on Windows 10 VMs?

The deployment schedules do not install the Feature Updates to W10, The update gets skipped, why is this? Do I have to install it manually on each and every VM?

  18. Refresh Windows update control panel status with correct date/time

ON-Prem: i've seen that after windows has been patched and rebooted, the only way to see last update status is through "installed updates". Nothing is displayed in "Windows update" control panel console.

  19. Download patches only

It would be very useful to have the possibility to schedule a manual update: the patches will be downloaded automatically, but installed manually from Guest OS update console. This is also to avoid possible problems related to the "pending reboot".

  20. Options to "Pause/Hold" Update Management Schedules.

We need an option to temporarily Hold\Pause the update management schedules.

This will help us during promotional events or any emergency times to stop installing the updates.
