  1. Show number/details of Successful updates deployed

The current update management screen for the summary of a previous update deployment only shows Failed/Not Attempted/Not Selected against the list of updates that were installed during the window.

For reporting purposes it would be useful to have another column 'Successful' which would show the amount of times the update was installed.

  3. Update Management Cli

Update Management needs to be added to Azure Cli and Powershell Modules.
This way new Azure and Non-Azure can be added automatically and updates managed. Also in order to export reports in various formats.

  4. Ability to refresh the 'Update Management' blade.

I cannot be sure that the window I'm looking at is up-to-date. A refresh button would give me confidence in this.

  5. OMS Gateway as the updates repository

Is it possible for updates to be downloaded on the OMS Gateway server and forwarded to clients?
I do not want to use the WSUS server as a repository.
I would like OMS Gateway server to connect directly to update.microsoft.com and download the required update itself.

  7. Allow us the ability to deny or clear out a update not reporting correctly

I am having an issue which keeps showing missing KB2267602 , which are defender updates but they are old and new definitions are already installed. Also getting 2 hosts with Intel - System - 10/3/2017 12:00:00 AM - 11.7.0.1045, and also 3 machines with Microsoft driver update for MS Publisher Imagesetter. If there was a way to deny these thru Azure it would be great as it never shows the machines up to date.

  8. Do an immediate refresh of compliance data after update deployment (linux)

After a deployment/update job, the data for the compliance dashboard should be immediately updated - not have to wait for the next scheduled compliance check

  9. Ability to adjust Windows Update settings

    Hi,

I think it would be useful to be able to configure Windows Update settings through update management, control things like automatic reboot settings, working hours, action to take if users are logged on. I believe the OMS agent could set the relevant registry keys.

  12. Enable Update approval

It would be great to have a option to approve / decline updates directly in the Update Management UI

  13. Ability to install updates in parallel instead of sequential

Right now Update Management uses the WUA agent to kick off installs of updates, and I understand that can only to this sequentially per update. I would be great to leverage the SCCM agent (when possible) to kick off patching in parallel (it is possible), otherwise it will take forever to just get a few updates installed and my MW's arent long enough.

  14. Patching Report issue.

Ability to get patching reports. Filter servers by TAG and export patching report to csv, pdf, etc.. In other word, fast way to get patching report for Organization management.

  15. Remove restrictions of maintenance window for update deployment job

Currently, the maintenace window can't be less than 30 minutes and no more that 6 hours. Some customers would like to set the window more longer since they wonder that some update programs coundn't be deployed during the windw. It would be nice if you could remove this restriction.

  16. Support boolean parameters in pre/post scripts

A runbook with boolean parameters cannot be set as a pre or post script in a scheduled update deployment. The UI when configuring the script has a dropdown to specify the value, but it is passed as a string ("True", "False", or ""). Ideally, it should be possible to pass these values, but failing that the UI should not present a dropdown that implies it should work.

  17. Optimizer to automatically generate deployments

Provide a simple means to provide:
    1. Maintenance Window
    2. Dependency rules / chains (i.e. 48 hours after system in dynamic group named test, then perform deploy to group named production)
    3. Rolling updates for clustered applications
    4. Validation post-patching (could be as simple as the update agent has reported post-reboot initially) and then halt deployment of related-nodes (if it is defined as part of a cluster)

Then allow for update manager to create deployments automatically by feeding this information into an optimizer.

  18. Dynamic Update Deployments on premises

The Dynamic Update Deployments feature which is in preview is only able to respect Azure systems. As hybrid is the new normal, this needs to be extended to a hybrid approach. It makes no sense to offer saved searches and dynamic groups which are not respecting changes in those groups. Today deployments will fail if any changes occours in the groups with the focus on on premises machines.

  19. Options to ignore de-allocated machines while using "Dynamic Groups" feature

We selected a few "Resource Groups" to update the VM's during the schedule using dynamic groups but if any of the VM is in a de-allocated state that will be obviously failed while deployment, I feel if we have an option to "Ignore De-Allocated" machines it would be great.

This helps to see less failed deployments since we know our VM's are de-allocated. (If any)
