  2. Is support for azure container instances planned for Government clouds?

I see that ACI support is only available in the public cloud at the moment. Is support for government clouds on the roadmap?

  3. Peering doesn't appear to be working

Got several hello-world ACI's up and running in a new VNET as per the guide, tried peering from an existing VNET to the ACI VNET, but cannot Telnet to the container at all. NSG rules are open, Peering is enabled...

  4. Cannot create ACI with number of cores and memory as suggested in documentation

I am trying to create a Windows ACI with 4 cores and 14gb of ram in West Europe or East US but i am unable to do this via the portal i am limited to 2 cores and 7gb.

In the documentation it states that i should be able to do this:

Location | OS | CPU | Memory (GB)
West US, East US, West Europe, North Europe | Windows | 4 | 14

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/container-instances/container-instances-quotas

    Any ideas why i can't??

  5. Service Endpoint Policies and ACI VNETs

One possible common scenario deploy ACIs in a VNET and have secure access from the ACIs to storage accounts or database services. I believe that Service Endpoint Policies [1] has been designed with that in mind. But with both ACI VNETs and Service Endpoint Policies in preview in non overlapping regions it makes it impossible for me to test if this is the case.

  6. ACI support to run IPv6 services

Until AKS supports IPv6, we are looking for alternative ways to run IPv6 services. Right now we are going to run them as .Net Core IaaS VM services behind a load balancer in an IPv6 VNet.

But ACI could be an option if it supported IPv6.

  7. Add hostpath file mapping for ACI

We will often require this feature for ACI

    Here is an example:
    https://hub.docker.com/r/tommylau/ocserv/
We would need a file from host to change the file inside the container
    docker run --name ocserv --privileged -p 443:443 -p 443:443/udp -v /some/path/to/ocpasswd:/etc/ocserv/ocpasswd -d tommylau/ocserv

  8. Inappropriate Pricing for Managed Services

First off, it's great to see how Azure as a platform developed and new features keep coming. However, while, in contrast to the competition, VM pricing is adequate, flexible and scalable, managed services are not.

Azure's competitive advantage are especially the managed services, offering a safe and straightforward configuration of the underlying systems. There is no doubt that managed services give the users and developers an added value. Developers don't want to "loose" time with redundant work that incurred building systems on top of IaaS. However, I don't see the proportion charging a multiple of the VMs prices for the…

  9. Allow native `HEALTHECK` as liveliness probe

Currently per https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/container-instances/container-instances-liveness-probe one have to create manually a liveliness probe despite the fact that dockerfile natively supports HEALTHECK directive.

  10. Add -user "" option for Azure Container Exec

Currently, az container exec doesn't seem to allow a user option, (whereas docker allows docker container exec -u "user").

  11. Allow for distinct/longer-lived DNS namespaces (container.[USER].westeurope.azurecontainer.io)

I can imagine some forms of abuse by people watching the container instance DNS namespace and snitching names, e.g. by mimicking previous content/APIs and waiting for people or machines to supply data.
It should be possible to protect against such an attack by registering long-living names which protect all shorter-lived subdomain names.

  12. you should add remote dekstop service on azure container instance

You should add remote desktop in windows server core running top on azure container instances which will be auto disable after 3 or 4 days. and converted fully into windows server core

  14. CLI support for git repo mounts

Currently we can only create git repo mounts from ARM templates. It would be great to do this from the Azure CLI, maybe with arguments like --gitrepo-repository and --gitrepo-mount-path

  15. Integrate Web Apps for Containers with ACS.

I love the news that came out the other week about ACS and ACI, so that the different services described by your docker-compose files are run as ACI containers, making the whole thing more "serverless".

However there is one reason we cant use this at the moment, and that is because one of the services in our docker-compose file is a public web app, and we really like hosting that as "Web App for Containers", because that offers swappable deployment slots and stuff.

So, I was thinking, what if you included "Web Apps for Containers" in the whole ACS/ACI system,…

  16. Support private registries with self-signed certificates

We have a private docker registry (Harbor) with self-signed TLS certificate, but can't use it with ACI service as a source of pull.
