  1. Use the same exposed public ip for outbound traffic start from the containergroup

    I have some question related to the Public IP used by container group create from Azure Container Instance. Actually the container group can expose public ip (set ipAddress.type = “Public”) which is used to access from external, but for the traffic start from the container group I found it does use the assigned exposed public ip. I’d like to check if possible to using the same exposed public ip for the outbound traffic starting from the container group ? if not, how the outbound traffic public ip is assigned to the container group ? Thanks previously for your kindly response.

  2. Create Airflow operator.

    Create an Azure Container Instances airflow operator similar to the DockerOperator or the KubernetesPodOperator. This would allow for using Airflow excellent workflow management to deploy container based task on Azure Container Instances allowing for by the second billing.

  3. Access docker.sock inside container instance

    This is more a matter than an idea. My question is if it is possible to access docker.sock on a container instance inside a container group.
    In my specific case I need the docker.sock so that Traefik (https://traefik.io/) can discover the remaining instances.
    Any suggestions and ideias would be nice :)

  4. Better compatability with AKS configMap

    Allow ACI containers to use AKS configmap and secrets.
    If the ACI was created from AKS virtualkublet , allow aks yaml options to map configmap values to container volumes.

    ex:
    volumes:

      - configMap:

    name: my-config-file
    name: config-volume

    ...
    volumeMounts:

          - mountPath: /srv/properties.py

    name: config-volume
    subPath: properties.py

  5. Want to support running Windows Server 1709 (and later) image

    Currently, Azure Container Instances cannot running Windows Server 1709 container image, because running Windows Server 2016 on Azure Container Instances. (I guess that.)

    Microsoft said 1709 not supported on Win2016 of Host OS ver as follows:
    * https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/virtualization/windowscontainers/deploy-containers/version-compatibility

    My feedback: I want to choose Semi-Annual Channe version's host in Azure Container Instances.

    Semi-Annual Channe is so nice solution for cloud platform because faster update, include more feature, lightweight images. However some customers want to solid OS like as LTSC. So that. I want to choose both version's host.

    Why 1709? 1709's image is more lightweight than LTSC and other Windows…

  6. Support shared/microcore pricing

    ACI for WIndows is often prohibitively expensive, especially for work/services that don't need a full CPU core. I have a service running in Cloud Services, which lets me choose A0 instance sizes. I really want to containerize this service and run in ACI but I can't justify the cost.

    If I could get 250m of CPU (k8s terminology) and 1GB of RAM for 1/4 the price (or even 1/3) it would be very attractive. Let me choose in increments of 1/4 core.

    I think you could lure many more into ACI with more granular pricing like this.

  7. Add support for faster cores, comparable to D- and H-Series VM's

    We are currently able to run our jobs in 20 seconds with a D3v2 Cloud Service VM, while it takes 33 seconds for ACI with 4 cores.

    ACI should be improved to compete with VM's used by Cloud Services and other resource types.

  8. Provision a feature to start a complete kubernetes cluster using ACI instances

    It would be beneficial to fire up a complete Kubernetes cluster using ACi

  11. Allow an ACI container to update itself when the image is updated

    This scenario is currently not supported and an update requires the container to be deleted (which forces an IP. Address change)

  12. The ACI -> Containers (in Settings section) -> Logs could use some improvements

    1. It should use long-polling where it automatically picks up and displays new content with no need for the user to hit the Refresh button.

    2. It should always scroll to the bottom so it displays the most recent content. Whenever I hit the Refresh button, the Logs display starting from the oldest item, so I always need to manually scroll down to the bottom to see the most recent pieces of data.

  13. Reuse IP Address or Set TTL very very low

    When deploying a change to an existing container instance & group, and re-using the public dns name, dependent services are not aware of ip address changes for several minutes. If possible, re-use the same public ip address when re-creating an ACI container, or alternatively, set the TTL of those A-records to something very short (Like 5 seconds)

  14. Allow creating multiple mounts from the same volume

    Currently ACI requires to have distinct volumes for each mounts which is not convenient since in case of Azure Files it requires creating a number of Azure Storage Shares.

    It would be great to mount the different volume paths like that:

    ```
    {
    "volumeMounts: [{
    "name": "myVolume",
    "mountPath": "/var/lib/waagent/"
    "volumePath": "/waagent/"
    },{
    "name": "myVolume",
    "mountPath": "/etc/path/"
    "volumePath": "/path/"
    }]
    }
    ```

  15. Adding CORS functionality

    I wanted to leverage the brilliant service Azure Container Instances. I think it's a huge benefit to use, when having just a small amount of applications, which are currently under development. It's a real on-demand solution.

    However, after setting it up, I lacked one very important feature for development support. I did not find any possibility to add Cross Origin (CORS) support to my dockerized API. I think it would be a great advantage to have this functionality when developing an early stage application.

  17. Nano server (SAC) on ACI

    Currently ACI only support LTSC-based image. (Azure Container Instances supports Windows images based only on Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) versions. To mitigate this issue when deploying Windows containers, always deploy LTSC-based images.)

    Would be good to support SAC images as all Nano server base images are in SAC. (https://hub.docker.com/r/microsoft/nanoserver/)

  18. Is support for azure container instances planned for Government clouds?

    I see that ACI support is only available in the public cloud at the moment. Is support for government clouds on the roadmap?

  19. Peering doesn't appear to be working

    Got several hello-world ACI's up and running in a new VNET as per the guide, tried peering from an existing VNET to the ACI VNET, but cannot Telnet to the container at all. NSG rules are open, Peering is enabled...

  20. Cannot create ACI with number of cores and memory as suggested in documentation

    I am trying to create a Windows ACI with 4 cores and 14gb of ram in West Europe or East US but i am unable to do this via the portal i am limited to 2 cores and 7gb.

    In the documentation it states that i should be able to do this:

    Location | OS | CPU | Memory (GB)
    West US, East US, West Europe, North Europe | Windows | 4 | 14

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/container-instances/container-instances-quotas

    Any ideas why i can't??
