  1. Run commands against AKS cluster from portal

It would be useful to have a selection of pre-made commands within the portal which can be executed directly from there and the output shown in portal, for example "kubectl get pods" ...etc
Or perhaps cluster actions that cx can use, i.e. restart the tunnel

Thanks for the valid suggestion. Your feedback is now open for the user community to upvote which allows us to effectively prioritize your request against our existing feature backlog and also gives us insight into the potential impact of implementing the suggested feature.

  2. Multiple windows containers in a container group

Add support for deploying multiple windows containers within a container group. Currently only a single windows container supported, or multiple Linux containers.

  3. Container Instances should be free under the student subscription

Linux VMs and Azure Kubernetes Services are free under the student subscription. Azure Container Instances are not. This seems strange.

  4. MSI support for Windows Containers

It seems that most of the part is supported on Linux containers.
But it would be a nice feature to have MSI support for Windows containers to begin with.

I get this error when trying to add identity to Windows container following this guide: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/container-instances/container-instances-managed-identity

"Managed service identity is not supported for Windows container groups."

  5. Cache the downloaded container image in the Container Instances (preview)

Each time I start a new container, the image is pulled from the repository. Even if I start 10 times the same image. I would like to have the image cached (maybe on the resource group level) so that I only get the penalty of pull once.

  6. Enable feature for increasing Limit for Azure Container log size (in running/stopped status)

It looks like as per the documentation: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/container-instances/container-instances-quotas
we have to go with default size limit of container instance logs with 4 MB for running instances and 16KB or 1000 lines for stopped instances.
We have usecases where application programatically spins up ACIs which executes some business logic and stops once that logic is executed. Our use case needs more size for logs. We have some requirement where we need to audit and sometimes debug the logs of these ACIs. Now with default size limit of ACI logs, we have seen that we are not able to get the full…

  7. Deploy Container Group with Log Analytics from Powershell

I can do this from the CLI or YAML, but not Powershell. CLI and Powershell need all the same features. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/container-instances/container-instances-log-analytics

  8. Mount individual files, not just folders

Some docker images assume the ability to mount an individual file, the azure file shares mount I believe only allows mounting as a folder.

Use case discussed in this question: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/55602201/mount-an-individual-file-in-azure-container-instances

  9. Support private registries with self-signed certificates

We have a private docker registry (Harbor) with self-signed TLS certificate, but can't use it with ACI service as a source of pull.

  10. Expand port number

Only allowing for 5 ports to be open on a container is very limiting. Please let us open at least 8 if not no limit.

  13. Increase North Europe CPU and memory limits for Linux container with VNET configured.

VNET is a must for us to access the resources with limited access

  14. Console for AKS managed cluster

It would be great to have a shell already accessible within the portal against the AKS cluster, via a button against the resource "console" which is already connected to the cluster using "az aks get-credentials" and ready for commands to be executed, i.e. kubectl

  16. Allow monitoring of events from Azure Monitor

    Use cases:
    - As a SRE, I want to receive an alerts when a container becomes unhealthy. https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs/issues/26512
    - As a SRE, I want to receive an alert an alerts when a container restarts too many time within a defined period of time. https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/azure-docs/issues/26501#issuecomment-473156432

  17. Support accelerated network for ACI

Some customer have networking needs, specifically they want to be able to stream data very fast. We have noticed that ACI works well for their scenario but the Networking could be improved.
We would like to be able to have an egress of 2Gbits per second on average on each instance. For instance, if my workload goes to 20 ACIs, I should be able to dispatch 20 Gbits per second, we are getting around 11.

  19. ACI with GPU often times takes 40 minutes or longer only to ultimately fail to start

I am trying to start a container with an attached GPU and after multiple attempts, I cannot get the container to start. I have tried different GPU sizes (K80, P100, V100) and none of them ever get to a point of being able to run. I have succeeded with this in the past but over the last couple of days it just seems to be completely unreliable. I cannot afford to wait 45 minutes to see if this will be successful, if it's going to fail, it needs to happen much faster than that! It also doesn't help that there…

  20. Support port range

Only support opening 5 ports is very limited. We are using a mountebank service that supports starting a service at any port asked by a user.

As we can expose a range of ports on docker, please consider supporting this feature.

    docker run -p4500-4600:4500-4600
