How can we improve Azure Cloud Shell?

Canadia Region support for storage account

It would be nice to support the canadian region(s) for the storage account that stores the cloud drive. Customers are requesting this more and more.

Canadian data residency requirements call for this solution. The more that we're able to give as options for data residency the more we will be able to see adoption.

All Canadian government data must reside in Canada. Please give us this feature to meet our needs.

Data residency is a mandatory requirement for Canadian public federal departments. We wish for this feature to be added to Azure.

Data residency is a key requirement for public federal institutions and this would be an excellent feature to add to Azure.

I am a lead Cloud Engineer with the Government of Canada. As Neil mentioned, this is a data residency concern for us. Having at least one Canadian datacentre that could host Cloud Shell storage accounts would remove a significant hurdle for us using this service. My developers are close to busting out the torches and pitch forks.

Cloud Shell has streamlined Azure cloud management by providing a method to SSH, Build Docker images, etc., all without having to deploy a Jump Server or Bastien host. Enabling it's use with Canadian storage accounts would be great and allow Governments to leverage this feature.

I deal with the Federal Government in Canada. This is a data residency issue for them. Adding Canada as a region would enable them to use the service.
