Upgrade the available TimescaleDB extension from v1.1.1 to v1.3 or higher.
Just wanted to upgrade the TimescaleDB extension from the current v1.1.1 to v1.3 or higher to be able to utilize the Continuous Aggregates feature.
Timescale version 1.3 is available on Azure Database for PostgreSQL
New request - this time for commitment to keeping it updated - here:

Allowing for the community license and going to 1.5 if you are going to do the work would be even better for us. 1.3 adds gap filling; 1.5 adds compression. Neither of these features, however, are available on the MIT open sourced version. 90%+ percent compression is enough of a reason to stand this up on a VM instead of using the managed instance. The storage cost saving for the kind of things timescaleDB is geared towards makes the managed version only good for testing. It is in no way suitable for a production load that stores any kind of data. Ex) I have relatively small tables and will be producing upwards of 6 million records an hour. In terms of disk space with TimescaleDB 1.1 that will come out to over 1GB+/hr. That is over 10 TB per year. The compression should drop that down to 500GB or less per year. I am guessing, however, that this advanced functionality will never be available because of licensing restrictions with the community versions/etc.
