Windows and Windows Mobile app
Create a UWP app to support all Windows devices
While we continue to support Windows 10 Mobile, we aren’t focused on building new features for it. We’re committed to bringing Microsoft’s apps and experiences to life across platforms and devices, meeting our customers where they are, and as such have invested in the Azure mobile apps for iOS and Android.

Closed? I think windows can provide a great part by being a 'PAAS' and 'SAAS'.
Closed? What about the Windows app? Did you just completely ignore that part?
No wonder W10 Mobile failed, while there was no mid-range device available in Europe. The place where Windows Phone was the most successful.
What's the status on this ? Just dumped android and iOS and back on windows phone this time wi does mobile 10 and can't believe there's no azure app in the windows store !

Really MSFT, no support for your own platform.

Re: "We only need to build the UI..." -- prove it. :) Presenting a consistent message at Build will go a long way to encourage developers to build Windows apps.
The app is built using Xamarin Native. We only need to build the UI for Windows and will be able to reuse most of the code that drives the app. We just wanted to focus on a solid foundation covering the broadest possible mobile audience at launch.

Why not create a Xamarin app to target iOS, Android, and Windows 10?
