Azure mobile app

The Azure mobile app (for iOS and Android) allows you to stay connected to your Azure resources –anytime, anywhere. Track the health and status of your resources, keep up with metrics to diagnose and resolve issues with quick actions, and even run commands using Cloud Shell (bash and PowerShell) all from your mobile device.

Have any ideas or feature requests? We would love to hear your feedback! Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter to stay up to date on our latest updates @AzureApp

  1. Adjustable and coherent time range in graphics

In the current portal dashboards we can set a given timeframe and see it in all the graphics and counters of the dashboard. It would be useful to have this in the azure app, so that you can focus on a specific time frame

  3. Save group and filter settings for next start of the app

I hate it when I have to apply my preferred group and filter settings everytime I open the app.
And in contrast to a large PC monitor, grouping and filtering is important for a small device, when you have a large amount of resources in your subscription.

  4. Creating Cloud Shell from iOS Azure Mobile App does not react/finish

When your Azure tenant does not have an associated storage account to the Shell, selecting the Cloud Shell tap at the bottom of the Azure Mobile App in iOS shows a dialog to generate this account. After pressing Create the button text switches to „Creating...“ but does not finish or any other reaction after some times.
When the account is created over the Azure Portal the same dialog is displayed and after a few seconds the Shell starts.
Accessing the Cloud Shell now in the App works as expected.
This is something to be checked.

  5. Fix TouchID experience

Switching quickly between the app and another on iOS shouldn’t force another Touch ID authentication immediately. Instead some sliding window say 60 or 360 seconds, preferably configuration driven in settings or policy from AAD.

Awfully annoying to be prompted for touch after screen switch to grab info or data outside

  7. I can’t select text on iOS (Safari or Firefox)

I love to use the Azure Cloud Shell in my iPAD Pro with keyboard when on the road or an airplane, it is being fine to do checks and monitoring, but there issues selecting text for copy and paste. They don’t seems to work and its is handy to use C&P for transferring ids and all sort of information when creating Kubernetes deployment files inside the shell.

  10. Scrolling in cloud shell iOS should not be amplified relative to content

Text scrolls faster than your finger - ok for a scroll bar but unintuitive for the console area itself

  13. Vpn reset | Quick deploy | Monitoring

    1. Ability to reset Vpn connections in case of issues
    2. 'quick deploy' feature for templates being able to demo how easy we can provision a demo for customers would be astounding on the road.
    3. Monitoring section of the app, essentially vm/insights/ops info in one location in the one app

(App is coming along very well, keep it up!)

    Cheers.

  14. Create a view for Resource group deployments

Please allow me to see all deployments. So that I can follow a deployment success/failure.

That is my most common use for a mobile app...

  16. Modify Resources

I would like to be able to create modify or delete resources in my subscription from the app

Not only through Azure CLI or power shell but just edit the Json directly like you can with the resources explorer

  17. Azure Mobile App Metrics

With the Azure mobile app, when I check my Azure SQL database I only see DTUs in metrics. I want to see cpu, storage io, query duration and memory consumption maximums and averages

  18. Allow webjobs to be limited to a specific number of instances when scaling out

It would be good to be able to limit the number of instances of a given webjob when an app service plan scales out.

My use case is a webjob reading from a queue that suddenly receives a glut of messages. As is, if the app is set to autoscale then the webjob quickly eats up CPU percentage, triggers a scale out then the new instance also grabs messages from the queue and triggers another scale out, etc.

I know we can make a given webjob a singleton. Using this option under the scenario described above, the app service plan…

  19. Swipe in Favorites allows 1 or more acrid s

If I have an IaasVM in my favorites it would be ideal to show state, but I would like to swipe and start it. Or stop it.

So, each resource type might have one or more actions that can be surfaced via swipe. Saves time as I open/start several machines each day and each has an auto shutdown rule each evening.

  20. Custom REST API calls

Add the ability to execute any REST API, similar to Resource Explorer, but with any HTTP method, URL, and body.
