Azure TCO Calculator

The Azure TCO calculator allows customers to compare on-premises infrastructure costs to potential Azure costs and to estimate the savings they could realize by migrating their application workloads to Microsoft Azure. Let us know if you have any suggestions, ideas or feedback based on your experience using the TCO calculator.
Note: this is a feedback forum and should be used only for ideas and suggestions related to the Azure TCO calculator.

  2. Doubts around costs assumptions

In Hardware Cost Assumption Tab, we can see K80 and M60 costs. What are about these costs and how can I estimate then?
In Datacenter Costs Assumption Tab, there is a cost called Data center useful life. What unit should I consider here - years, semester or other one?
    Tks in advance!

  3. Prices Suddenly Unavailable

Hello! I am calculating using TCO_Custom_Input. First I select 1 year timeframe, using US East 2, and then I want to check for 2 year timeframe, at this point I get a message that the prices for the selected region are not available, and prompted to select Central Canada. Why is this happening if seconds ago US East 2 was working?

  4. Storage Options

    Hi

I am trying to calculate our Infrastructure to switch over to Azure. Under Storage, I am only able to add 20 entries. Can this be extended as I need a lot more.

  6. Compute Bulk Import Costs

Do the [MAPS] bulk import costs include the storage associated with the imported VMs? (I note the disk sizes reported in the bulk output file)
If not, perhaps you could allow bulk import into the storage field also; otherwise I have hundreds of individual lines to enter...

No, the MAP import only supports completion of the Compute section. The Storage section in the TCO Calculator is an aggregate storage number across all your VMs. As a workaround, you could sum all of the disk sizes that are reported in the MAP file and enter that into the TCO Calculator.

  7. Improve the diagnostics

Saying “Input string was not in a correct format. Click here for help.” without at least indicating the row is very poor. Since there is no verbose mode it is impossible to troubleshoot. I know that the file format is correct because when I truncate the file to 1,3 and 5 rows of data it works fine. My file is attached.
