  1. Disable Azure Active Directory Users After A Set Time Period Of Inactivity

Request feature that will automatically disable Azure Active Directory cloud only user accounts after a set time period of account inactivity. Our security policy requires that inactive accounts over 30 days are disabled and be deleted if no longer necessary.

  2. Move Managed Disks between Resource Groups and Subscriptions

It is not supported to move VMs with Managed Disks between Resource Groups or Subscriptions. This is currently available in the commercial cloud: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-resource-manager/resource-group-move-resources#virtual-machines-limitations , but we don't have this provider available in Azure Government. If we need to move a VM with a managed disk, we must snapshot the managed disk, copy that over, and recreate the VM in the new Resource Group or subscription. This incurs unnecessary downtime.

  4. Redirect Azure Government customers when accessing Portal.Azure.COM to Portal.Azure.US and vice versa.

Redirect Azure Government customers when accessing Portal.Azure.COM to Portal.Azure.US and vice versa. Or at least throw up some flags to block access to that portal.

  5. Provide Government MFA support for Azure File Shares, and allow integration with Azure Active Directory.

Response from a recent Microsoft ticket "In short, MFA will not be possible for access to the Azure Files Shares, at least in the foreseeable future. Additionally, the Azure File Shares are not designed to integrate with Azure Active Directory. " when trying to monitor/provide MFA support for accessing a file share on the Azure Government platform.

  6. SAP Hanna on Gov Cloud (L4/L5).

Customers are looking at modernizing logistics and ERP solutions, often written and stored on on-prem exadata solutions. Those same customer are looking to AWS hosted solutions, oracle solutions, or maintaining an on-prem environment.

  7. Add alerts to Azure backup vaults in L4 regions (USVirgina)

We need to receive alerts when backup jobs have completed in ASR but at this time, alerting and notification is not available in L4 gov regions such as US Virginia.

  8. Better information regarding current features

We need a better source of information regarding the difference in Commercial cloud and Government cloud capabilities.

I feel like we are often just in the dark about when some features are coming vs. not, and have no idea if things are fully implemented or not.

Example: In Government cloud, Teams is not able to add any apps. Is this coming? When?

Another example: Brown bag style events are rolling out worldwide allowing us to create events on a team calendar without inviting the entire team; when would we get it?

Another example: Azure Sentinel is in commercial, no timeline…

  9. Remove the 500 seat requirement for AD premium

We only use AAD for admins managing IAAS resources in Azure. We need AAD premium to meet security and compliance requirements but we don't have anywhere near 500 admins. Without AAD premium it is not possible to meet certain security requirements and Microsoft has put a huge barrier to access it for smaller organizations.

  11. Portal generated MAG Deployment Template uses incorrect PowerShell command for login

By going to any Resource Group, Automation Script then selecting PowerShell. When downloading the deployment template or viewing the powershell template for deployments the command used is:
    Login-AzureRMAccount
    without the Environment name.

    The command should be
    Login-AzureRmAccount -EnvironmentName AzureUSGovernment

The script file is also wrong when you download the zip file.

  12. Allow SaaS app offer types to be published as Azure Government

Today, offerings in the Azure Marketplace can only be designated for Azure Government if they're VM-types or Azure App type offerings.

We have a SaaS app that we'd like to be able to tag as Azure Government as well, since it's for Azure Gov deployments and use.

I imagine this must come up frequently!

  14. incremental backups

I understand that there is a lag between certain features in the government fork; however, we need this feature to meet departmental behaviors which need to continue to facilitate a smooth transition from on-premises to Azure.

We are now in Azure and must be able to perform the status quo until rearchitecture to Iaas/PaaS over just IaaS.

  15. API Management Consumption plan (like in Commercial)

In today's MS Connect, Microsoft announced availability of API Management Consumption plan (In preview) in Microsoft Azure Commercial subscriptions. Why not extend the same offer to Govt, Cloud? This is a great solution for several State and Local customers.

  19. Azure Govt Import Export Pricing Clarity

The Azure Pricing web page for Govt Import Export is misleading at best and needs to be clarified. This page indicates the cost to import a data disk in "N/A" and strongly implies it's free especially when you select any Commercial Data Center where the price is $80 per disk drive. Govt pricing is different than Commercial with a higher free Azure Credits ($500) and Govt customers will believe the disk drive upload charge is at no cost (free).

  20. Add visibility of storage caps and utilization to dashboards and CLI

Add visibility of storage caps and utilization to dashboards and CLI. With lots of storage accounts throughout the company, some will be requested to be higher than the base 500 TB limit. In order to manage them as they get larger, it would be great to have a dashboard with utilization as well as limits. Pulling this data from the CLI would also be useful to get it back into monitoring systems that can alert us when we're nearing the current cap.
