Azure Monitor-Application Insights
Welcome to the Azure Application Insights UserVoice site. This site is for suggestions and ideas for all aspects of Application Insights such as our SDKs, Web tests, Analytics, etc. We look forward to hearing from you!

Add Release Annotations to the Performance/Failures views
Would be great if you could see Release Annotations from Dependencies as well.

Ability to exclude specific requests from Performance Preview Blade in Azure Portal
This Performance (Preview) blade in the Azure Portal is super helpful.
One suggestion though: we have lots of very frequent (and fast) requests to a health check resource which is pinged by the load balancer and also used for the availability tests which run every 1 minute from 4 different locations.
These requests totally pollute the statistics.
Is it possible to filter out specific requests?

Allow pinned Analytics Dashboard Charts to click through to event search view.
One of the great features of Application Insights is the ability to drill down into the data by clicking through the metrics charts to create new filtered search blades.
Many useful built in portal tiles have been removed recently (e.g. 'Top Crashes' showing Impacted User Count); Analytics allows us to recreate the same view on a dashboard in a more general way but the pinned chart does not have the same "drill down" abilities to the data that the old built in tiles had.
It would be great if there was an option to allow clicking through the pinned charts…
10 votesThank you for the great suggestion! The team is currently heads down with a lot of other work, but we have a set of dashboarding improvements in mind in the next few months. We’ll update the status to “in progress” once we get going on these.

Add exception details like call stack to Alert emails natofication
How to add exception details in alert mail notification. I only get links to redirect to azure portal.

Export past events in same format as continuous export
After I turn on continuous export I would like to do a one time pull of event data that occurred before continuous export was enabled. This feature would export the data in the same format provided by continuous export to make it easy to ingest into a downstream reporting system.

Dependency tracking for Azure Cosmos DB with TCP mode
According to the documentation https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/app/asp-net-dependencies#automatically-tracked-dependencies only HTTP calls are tracked as dependency for Azure Cosmos DB and TCP mode is not supported. Please, add support to track dependency calls to Cosmos DB when Direct TCP mode is used.

unminify - add support for multiple apps
While hosting multiple frontend apps and deploying them one per app service, in case they share the same folder and filename structure the feature does not work currently if we use a single app insights instance.
The same folder and filename structure is typical for every frontend framework nowadays.
Example:
https://app1.com/js/main.js
https://app2.com/js/main.jsIn this case the last deployed jsmap files will be the only ones accessible and debugging will become more confusing than helpful.
Please add support for this as it seems a core functionality that might have been overlooked.

Log blocking function at Application insights side
Application Insights uses the Application Insights Instrumentation Key to freely collect logs for different subscriptions and environments.
At the same time, unnecessary logs may be uploaded if the Application Insights Instrumentation Key is known. Therefore, it is necessary for Application Insights to have a function to identify the resources to which logs are to be transferred and to block those resources that are not required for monitoring.
8 votesThank you for the feedback, can you please help expand your scenario , expectation is that we only share Application Insights Instrumentation Key from those who there telemetry events be sent to Application insights instance , however when you say unnecessary logs may be uploaded it would be helpful if you can explain your scenario so that our team can further evaluate the feedback

Disable & Enable Application Insights as Needed
Need an option to Disable a specific instance of Application Insights and Azure Monitor during a planned Maintenance Window and then the ability to re-enable it when needed. Could not find such an option on the Azure Portal. Currently it is only possible to stop telemetry by changing the web.config file of the app but nothing on the server side on the Application Insights instance.

Shared queries destination for multiple resource groups
There should be a way to either share queries across multiple resource groups on the same subscription, or at least batch exporting/importing in the analytics blade. It's common to deploy several instances of an application to different resource groups as different sandboxes/environments, but typically we'd be interested in displaying analytics data uniformly across all environments.

Export user flow graph as png/jpg/pdf
There should be an option to export the user flow graph to an image or a PDF, so it can be shared with colleagues who don't have and need not have Azure access.

Support better deep linking to blades
Right now one can copy the URL in paste it somewhere for others to click on to go immediately to a blade item in Application Insights, such as an exception. However, the link is very long and sometimes when users go straight to the URL it doesn't load correctly the first time. It would be nice if there was a "share" link or something similar where we could get a shorter url and if going straight to the urls loaded correctly the first time.

Application Insights in North Central US
We have restrictions that all our disaster recovery resources should be created in "North Central US" region. As a result, we are not able to use Application Insights. Are there any plans on having app insights for North Central US region?

Add a server filter to the Live Metrics Stream
On the Live Metrics Stream it would be useful to be able to view the metrics for a subset of servers. Currently it is only possible to view all servers together or a single server.
For example, if I had a Virtual Machine Scale Set (VMSS) representing servers hosting an application gateway and another VMSS representing servers hosting back end microservices, I would like to be able to select all gateway servers to view metrics for the combined set of gateway servers.

VueJs Support
Add support for VueJs that supports the entire Analytics feature set. There is an open source one currently, but its pretty basic.
8 votesHi Eric,
Can you clarify what Analytics feature set you are referring to?
Thanks,

Expose a "Application Insights Component Reader" Role Definition
In the same way you expose the "Application Insights Component Contributor" role, expose a new role that give access to Overview and all other parts of AI (including Analytics) in a read-only fashion

Add a public library of common used analytics queries
While some applications have specific requirements, a lot of reports that come out of analystics must be pretty common. It would be nice to have an área in which to find common queries already optimized and 'verified' by the community and/or Microsoft itself.
Queries like: "between two dates, which are the pages that had most time consumption difference"8 votesWe’re currently planning a feature that will expose a repo of community-shared queries, which we think will answer this need as well.
The repo itself is available and open today at https://github.com/MicrosoftDocs/LogAnalyticsExamplesWill update more as planning continues,
