Create a VSTS widget that supports Analytics queries. Being able to use Analytics Queries would be really useful. With AIQL, you can create widgets that are targeted, meaningful, and specific to the team.17 votes
There is no effort on this integration for the foreseeable future, so moving this status to unplanned.
It would be great to have a tight integration of App Insight with Azure Key Vault so that it allows App Insight able to fetch credentials directly from Key Vault during run time to run the availability web tests. We don't want to hard code anything in web tests to connect to Key Vault but rather it should be able to connect and fetch required credentials from Vault and run the web tests.13 votes
Adding the release annotation task on a Linux agent throws the following error:
[error]A supported task execution handler was not found. This error usually means the task does not carry an implementation that is compatible with your current operating system. Contact the task author for more details.
Write the release task to support Linux or OS agnostic.11 votes
gelf is Graylog Extended Format
There is an official and widely used logging driver for Docker based on gelf see https://docs.docker.com/config/containers/logging/gelf/
This idea would enable sending the log output (console output) of a docker container via gelf to Application Insights (log-aggregation) n a direct fashion.
There exists a custom way to achieve this which is however quite hacky, as blogged at https://lbadri.wordpress.com/2018/03/10/sending-docker-container-logs-to-azure-application-insights-using-gelf-driver/5 votes

To use the ApplicationsInsights.Web package in its current form, the solution must support the following path:
This takes up 126 characters of the 260 allowed. This path is too long for our environment and Nuget fails. Is it possible to shorten package names?2 votes

When I add the Application Insights widgets to my TFS dashboard, I am able to connect to my data just fine, but when there is no data for a day, the line does not go back to zero for that day, it just goes to the value for the next day with a value. I would like to have each day within the date range have a value of zero when there is no data for that date.2 votes

Allow override for "already instrumented" checks
I have applications that have the "System.Net.Http" and "Microsoft.Azure.EventHubs" assemblies loaded, which depend on the "System.Diagnostics.DiagnosticSource" assembly. When this assembly is loaded, Application Insights codeless integration for App Service doesn't work. This is due to a check for the Diagnostics assembly. Please allow an override to allow AI to start without checking for this assembly - when I do manage to get it to load, it works fine.1 vote

When I create a release annotation from Azure Dev Ops using the Release Annotation extension, I would like to include properties that indicate what micro-service I just pushed a release for. Looks like the API should be able to support it but there's no place for it in the AZDO task. I attached a screenshot of the params for the powershell that indicate this should be possible to do. Additionally, if this extension was to be open sourced, I would love to contribute.1 vote
There are community authored wrappers that leverage the App Insights JS SDK and provide additional support but we would like to see a fully supported solution/attach scenario that would allow easy monitoring enablement across all Dynamics pages.1 vote

Microsoft.ApplicationInsights, but when I add the NuGet package
Microsoft.ApplicationInsights.NLogTargeton a project that targets .NET 4.0, it installs fine, but doesn't install
Microsoft.ApplicationInsights. Trying to manually add
Microsoft.ApplicationInsightsresults in an error since it requires .NET 4.5. I think
Microsoft.ApplicationInsights.NLogTargetneeds to block installation on .NET 4.0 unless there is something I'm totally missing.
Also, if there is a better place to file bugs, please advise.1 vote
Please add "View full value" functionality for the Release Properties values. It is an issue for long text i.e. release notes. (Hints show full value)1 vote
