  1. Allow cloning of existing azure monitor alert rules

Most of our alert rules are variants/copies of each other: same alert target, same action group, similar search queries, evaluation logic etc.

It would be great if we could simply clone an existing alert rule (and modify it as needed) instead of creating one from scratch each time.

  2. Unable to create Cross Resource Alerts via ARM template

If you change the query to a Cross Resource query using the template in the document linked below, you get a 400 error with this message.

I can take the exact same query and make an alert in the portal against the same Application Insights instance without issue.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/monitoring-and-diagnostics/monitor-alerts-unified-log-template

  3. Allow to select all alerts of a smart group (not only visible)

When viewing an alert smart group there's a possibility to select and edit all alerts at once. The issue is, that the "select all" option only selects the visible alerts of the current page. It doesn't select all alerts of all pages.
If there are lots of alerts in a smart group it's very painful to iterate through all pages and process the activities for every page.
It would be very useful to change the behavior of the "select all" option to really select all alerts (including alerts of other pages) or to add further select option to enable the…

  4. integration send alert to third party (azure service bus, event hub, IFTTT, Slack)

Allow app insight integration with third party (azure service bus, event hub, IFTTT, Slack). Allow sending metrics or alerts on a schedule or on trigger to third party. For example, send alerts to Slack.

  5. Setting threshold for Available MBytes

We can gather Available MBytes (\Memory\Available MBytes) of Cloud Service as App Insights telemetry with setting Diagnotics configuration as pic1.png.
However, I don't know how can we determine the supplementary unit for that when we want to set an alert rule. The unit of it appears just "count" as pic2.png.
Also, as far as I checked, it is not "MBytes" but "Bytes" contrary to the name of the counter.
It would be nice if all unit of counters are displayed clearly.

  6. Subscribe/Unsubscribe single email address from group email

We use group email address in our product in order to get email from azure monitoring alerts to specific teams/goals.
We found out that if a single person unsubscribe from the email alert sent from app insight the entire group will not be able to receive an alert email.

I vote for the following enhancements:
    1) Enable single user from group email to subscribe/unsubscribe from a specific alert without affecting the entire emails in the group list
    2) Enable in the azure portal to subscribe/unsubscribe for monitoring alert emails (in addition to the email send from app insight, which can…

  7. Alert in Application Insights not working for Failure request metric

In my Application Insights for my Web APP (dot net WEB API 2):
I created the alert rule with metrics alert (Failed requests(Platform) - on error code 500 ).
    ![image](https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/21296191/52702036-8c764980-2f8c-11e9-8148-2f0a25a29eb0.png)

I have many 500 http error response codes in my app I want to alert:

But they not caught(and alerted) with my condition signal logic (Evaluated based on - period 5 mins, every 1 min):

  8. Azure monitor alert rules should allow importing queries from analytics explorer

It would be awesome if there was a mechanism to allow importing queries from Analytics Explorer into Azure monitor alert rules.

Today, while creating these alert rules, we have to copy-paste queries from analytics explorer. This means one has to (potentially) maintain several versions of the same query.

  9. alert based on the filtered one

I'd like to receive alert by specific api controller response time such as '~/api/viewpost > 3sec'

We can monitor it, but cannot create an alert rule.

This request is similar to the link, and your team closed due to duplicate issue. But the link is broken; https://feedback.azure.com/forums/357324-application-insights/suggestions/9702621-alert-can-be-fired-with-metric-performance-counter

  10. Application insights smart detection - utilise existing action groups

When editing a rule in "Smart Detection settings", you can only choose between email and webhooks as a notification option.
It would be nice to utilise existing action groups configured within Azure monitor.

    Thank you for reaching out.

Integration with action groups will become supported for the “Failure Anomalies” detection rule in the coming weeks, as part of the transition from classic alerts (more info here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-monitor/platform/monitoring-classic-retirement).

Action groups support for the other Smart Detection rules is also in our backlog, but there’s no ETA for this yet.

  12. Move Application Insights Availability Alerts to Preview Format

Move Application Insights Availability Alerts to Preview Format.
As of now only classic is supported and 3:rd parties like OpsGenie does not support this anymore.

  13. Add Surport to check Availability from China

As China is considered as different as per IT. We have the complaint from China customer for accession our web app which is Host in Azure East US Region.

And we found nothing for how to monitor Availability from China

  14. Automate the creation of Scheduled Analytics resources

We generate Azure Application Insights resources via ARM json templates and also need to generate the Scheduled Analytics and matching alert for those AI resources so we can reliably recreate the identical setup across environments. See attached for Azure Portal examples of what we need automated.

  15. Application Insights: Alerts to include optional multiple conditions and CRON time

Add the ability to specify one or more conditions to trigger an alert.

For example, "Availability > 0 AND Function Count > 0" over last 5 minutes.

Also it would be nice to have some alerts running only between specific times hence the request for an optional CRON time (using UTC timezone).

For example, "Alert to run only between 9am - 5pm".

Thanks for the valid suggestion. Your feedback is now open for the user community to upvote & comment on. This allows us to effectively prioritize your request against our existing feature backlog and also gives us insight into the potential impact of implementing the suggested feature.

  19. Add possiblity to query from Log Analytics to fetch all alerts triggered by Application Insight alert rules

It would be great if there is any table in Log Analytics where all triggered alerts are stored with details so I can use Log Analytics query to fetch what I want and build up custom charts and dashboard fit to business needs

  20. Display actual time the problem occurred in email body.

The alert email I receive states:
    When did this happen:
    March 21, 2019 0:00 UTC

    When it actually happened 3/20 8:00 PM - 3/21 7:59 PM.
If you are going to put the information in the email it should at least be accurate and useful.
