As a financial organisation we need to be able to send information securely to Application Insights to within our own virtual network and not via a public IP. Given Application Insights could potentially contain private and/or confidential data which definitely is not desired to be sent outside of our corporations network. So in order or our team to be able to use the functionality of Application Insights it would be great if we could have the functionality send the information via a service endpoint instead of one of the current public ip addresses.

We are an internal Microsoft team and we have the same problem. We connect to Application Insights from Azure Functions (App Service plan).
We would like to ask what is the ETA for you to support Service Endpoints for Application Insights, such that we can access Insights from inside our virtual network, as opposed to going through NAT port translation.
This is an important feature to us because traffic that goes through the virtual network does not count against the number of outbound connections, which are limited and can cause SNAT port exhaustion.

Also in our position, we have to back haul the internet traffic on-premise through the corporate proxies. Having the ability to send the telemetry to a secure ip in the virtual network will allow us to react to events quicker.
