Application Insights uses the Application Insights Instrumentation Key to freely collect logs for different subscriptions and environments.
At the same time, unnecessary logs may be uploaded if the Application Insights Instrumentation Key is known.
Therefore, it is necessary for Application Insights to have a function to identify the resources to which logs are to be transferred and to block those resources that are not required for monitoring.8 votes
Thank you for the feedback, can you please help expand your scenario , expectation is that we only share Application Insights Instrumentation Key from those who there telemetry events be sent to Application insights instance , however when you say unnecessary logs may be uploaded it would be helpful if you can explain your scenario so that our team can further evaluate the feedback

Is there a way Application Insight data that is stored via Stream Analytics to be consumed the same way as using the REST API for Application Insight? Is there source code to stand up the same REST API on a server we host? We need this because we know the data retention is only 90 days for Application Insight.1 vote
Could you please further elaborate your scenario which would help us to evaluate your ask accordingly.
Please refer to the documentation pertaining to retention policy.

Deletion of old data/data that was acquired during the testing of app insights integration into the application
Allow deletion of old data via Azure portal--We have accumulated a lot of junk data that was generated while we were testing application insights for our application.1 vote
Thanks for reaching out to us and sharing your feedback request. When looking at the failure anomalies page, it would be nice to be able to select a date/time range. We've noticed a trend in a specific failure over time, but when looking at the failure anomalies analysis page, we can only see data for the last 12 hours. Being able to go back days or months would allow us to visualize a trend in this request that keeps failing, without losing the Detection Analysis summaries.1 vote
Thanks for reaching out to us. Currently both Failure anomalies and Smart Detection features have Time range in the UI based on which the graphs change, Are you referring that feature is not catering your needs. If so, could you please explain you scenario so that we can take your feedback and prioritize with our existing Feature backlog accordingly.
